Audition: Metal Koola (YES)
#1
Real Name: Matthew Caro
Age: 19
Education Level: Junior in College (Majoring in Biotechnology)
Registration Date: A long time ago... I would guess within a few months of the rpg's creation.

1) First and foremost, why should you be selected to play?

-Obviously I should be selected simply because of how much I rock. I've been here for quite some time and obviously know how this game works, and have talked to quite a few of the members in charge for many-a-year. I think I get along with them all fairly well and I have had quite a few creative ideas in the past and think I can come up with quite a few more creative ideas in the future. Plus the fact that I was, and I quote, "The Best Apprentice Candidate Ever."

2) What qualities do you possess that will make you the Idol?

-I like to think of myself as fairly easy going as well as easy to get along with, and that is of course, an important thing to have in a staff member. If the members don't think you're approachable, they're less likely to IM you to chat, ask a question, or anything else... I'm almost always online, and on this website quite often. That, and I'm Idolized by many.

3) Tell me any previous experience you have with running an RPG. Included should be the name of the RPG, the genre, and how long it lasted.

-I ran a fairly successful dbz rpg back when I was a newer member to this rpg. It eventually ended, and I ran a few more that weren't quite as successful, but were all pretty entertaining. The main one was XDBRPG, a few of the rest slip my mind, two of which involved a final fantasy DBZ cross over which I honestly spent weeks working on the materia/ki conversion system.

4) Finally, you need to write a short essay/description (200+ words) of what you feel being a staff member of Chubbs is all about. What do you think is necessary, what do you think has to be done. Be detailed, as much as you can. Don't kiss our asses, we aren't looking for compliments.

- I think being a staff member of Chubbs is about being an intellectual and understanding member of the game. Someone who is able to smart informed decisions based on whatever information they are presented and having the ability to back up what they say. It is about helping to create the best possible experience for the members so that they will want to stay for as long as possible (much like I have) and making them want to contribute their own ideas in order to create an even better game. I think it is a circular process that the staff helps ?push in the right direction? and help to keep everything in order. Without the staff, things would get a little chaotic and there wouldn't be nearly as great as a game.

All of the staff here knows me, and knows what I'm capable of when I apply myself. I worked fairly hard during the apprentice, showing that when it comes down to it, I will do the work. I know I'm not the most active of RPer, but I hardly see how that is the most important factor that would be important in adding a member of the staff. What should be important is how you think the person would do given the position, and how creative you feel they can be with story-lines and ideas.

Also, as I said before I feel I am easily approachable, and being personable is an important part of being in a position of power. If a person is comfortable talking to you then they are more comfortable where they are and certainly won't want to leave. Sure, I make plenty of jokes, but that's all they are, jokes... and I like to think that most people are able to understand that.

Oh yeah, and plenty of hugs and kisses to staff for doing a sensational job!

No. You just don't seem dedicated enough, at all.

I'm honestly impressed with how much you've been RPing lately. I wouldn't think much of it for most people (no offense) but consider your past levels of activity, this is sensational.

Do you actually have the time to do this, or did you just think it would be fun? Honest answer, please. =P

Regardless of what your answer is to the first question, I pose to you a second: can you put in the time required to be fair to those assigned to work with you, should such a situation arise?

Your history of inactivity is worrisome, but as Rad has said, you've been around a whole lot more lately.

You have some things to prove to us, mostly things beyond what this competition regards. Still, my answer will be Yes.

I definitely have the time to do this. When it came down to it, I put the time required into doing things when they needed to be done (as shown in Apprentice and most recently in DA). I can't argue that in the past I have been inactive, but it was mainly because I didn't have anything to do. When I have things to do though, I am as active as the next person, and sometimes moreso.

If given a task, it gets done. For the second question, yes, I could give a fair amount of time to those assigned to work with me.
