"They"? You mean "terrorists"? If they stopped invoking terror, they wouldn't really be terrorists, now would they?

That was my favorite part. What was the connection? One of them was middle eastern?

Not always. The point of a terrorist is to cause terror. Often through violent means. That doesn't imply they're working towards some ulterior motive. Not until the last couple of years has that connection been forming the in the minds of the easily swayed.

It doesn't always apply of course. It's just one of those sayings that have stuck around. Tongue

I watched that last night with that Diane Sawyer person. Quite ingenious way, actually. They had twenty-four people each bring a small piece of the liquid bomb on-board.

Yes, it was an ingenious plot. But dammit, why don't they use that intelligence for something else besides killing people? Good Lord, this is one instance where I'm glad we have the Patriot Act.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get why people would spend so much time, so much effort, attempting to murder people they don't know.

Tooro, our society sucks just as much as everyone else's. There's nothing well-thought-out about it. At all.

Where this insanity comes from, I don't know. What I do know is had this attack been successful, 9/11 would look just peachy in comparison.

Honestly, the al-Qaeda connections or whatever, I don't know, I don't care. Can't say I'm not frightened. I've been airborne a few thousand klicks and will probably be up there again a bunch of times. I don't need some lunatic trying to kill us.

I just have trouble understanding the will to carry out such attacks. The targets are civilians, innocent people with their own problems who have nothing to do with the political or military machines.

I think BJ put it as eloquently as I ever could. Fuck terrorism.
