The video halfway down the page.
Ok, basically, this video summarizes the theory of American Concentration Camps, which is just that, a theory. Not proven. I don't necessarily believe it or disbelieve it.
An attender of the Ron Paul Washington D.C. march who is/was an ex-member of the C.I.A. spoke out at the March and claimed that areas such as those shown in that video are going to be used to hold Americans after the next big terrorist attack.
The theory is that after the next attack, the president will declare martial law and seperate the American citizenry into two categories, red listers and blue listers. The red listers are those who will speak or have spoken out against the government and would show resistance. Under suspicion of assistance in the attacks, red listers would theoretically be taken to these camps and tortured/killed and stuff.
Blue listers would be sent to other camps and re-educated.
It's all a theory, but, I'd like to know what the members think. Intelligent debate only, hence the mature tag.

If the government tried to do that, I'm pretty sure America's citizens would rise up in revolt and start lynching politicians. The terrorist attack would have to be, like, nuclear strikes against several major cities before fear clouded our senses that badly.

Theoretically, it is nuclear strikes against cities. Once again though, this is all a theory.
They would be using the army and stuff, so, a revolt would be pretty difficult.

I'm pretty sure that no matter how powerful our military is, it cannot shepherd and control over 300 million or so people with brute force.
Look how many troops we have in Iraq and how straining that is on the military, and how small an area. Now multiply that space and population by several degrees (Iraq has something like 27 million people in it) and tell me that it would be difficult to revolt.

A mass revolt would be terribly difficult to organize with the varied opinions and standards of the American citizenry. There's a number of the population that would lick dog shit if the Government issued a statement saying they should. I think the division between supporters of martial law and protestors would be nearly even.
Read the bits of information beneath the video too.

Who says it needs to be organized? I'd seriously expect riots to start breaking out all over the country. Even if it did need to be organized, who says there has to be one overarching command? There'd probably be several groups working either independently or with one another.
I think that you're underestimating the moral strength of the American people just a tad. We can be douchebags most of the time, and yes some people will be content to slurp up anything the government feeds them, but that's always provided that the government leaves them alone. Those jingoistic flag wavers are probably going to be the first to pick up a twelve-gauge when soldiers come a knockin' with a project worthy of the Nazis. They're not just going to sit around while people kill their sons and rape their wives and daughters.
Sorry, just... No.

That's a pretty well-founded opinion. Some of the documentation in the articles are fakes, and I know that because of the dates.
One says:
"March 24, 1997" where correct documentational dating would read "24 March 1997".
But a good number of the documents for military orders do seem legit. Whether or not they could be successfully employed is anyone's guess.

I agree. I think his theory is a crock, maybe I'm not thinking straight but it's basically saying whomever the next president(or is president if we happen to get attacked) will want to put all of america into camps to either kill them or re-educate them for some reason or another. Makes no sense to me.

Once more got to agree with B on that. I can't say anymore at this point because he's already said it.
I would have believed the theory should it have involved putting only those who've spoken out against the government into 'camps' and leaving the rest alone or something.

I thought I heard Pink Floyd in the background.
Sure, these places exist but it's quite a leap to say that it's a government plot to overturn the country with a police state. It looks to me more like it's a fail-safe for imprisoning an unlimited number of people in the event of a full scale invasion on US soil.

The first song was "One of These Days" and the second song was "Welcome to the Machine".

With the current state the American government is in, declaring Martial Law would start a civil war.

Didn't we do that on a lower scale though? We took all the Japanese and made them leave their homes and go to camps.

The world then was very different than it is now.
