OK, just asking a question based on something Reb said in the Updates forum to Vad:

I can't pay Misa (delivery girl) and Piper (unemployed) for an assassin's job

I thought you COULD do a job not of your own profession, you just wouldn't get as big a reward as someone with that profession would and wouldn't move up in rank.

Hold the phone, so if i'm a delivery boy and i get hired by my neighbor to beat up on the local bully because of my size, i can't get paid for it because it's not my listed profession? I assumed we just got a penalty because it wasn't our specialty, and obviously if something is your listed job it's the job you specialize in and thus will do a better job and will not recieve a penalty because your work is top notch shit.

Just because it's a stretch, the delivery girl shouldn't get paid? The fact that it's a stretch has everything to do with the storyline and nothing to do with earning zeni for doing a job. She happens to be a delivery girl, and she does the assassin hit. Period. She still still get paid for doing the job if she actually Roleplays doing that job. I can ABSOLUTELY understand the penalty idea for doing a job that you don't specialize in.

She's a delivery girl, the hit would be sloppy because she's not an experience assassin. She doesn't earn as much, makes sense.

But to say she shouldn't earn money at all, even though she did the job, just because you think it's a stretch is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that you would have to personally read the entire thing to determine whether or not it is a stretch to begin with, it could have been RPed exceptionally well.

The fact that it might not make complete sense, and that it is a stretch should be taken into effect when giving a reward for a personal storyline, since it is the storyline that is effected by the so called 'stretch' (in reality), not the job quest.

So here's the deal. If you do a quest with other people and the intent is for everyone to participate in it, specify who "owns" the quest, who's participating, and what everyone's profession is. For Vad, it would look something like this:

Rank 1 Assassin Quest
Owner: Vad (Assassin)
Participating: Misa (Delivery girl), Piper (Unemployed)

And then you would show where the quest starts and stops. Each person will receive an individual award based on their participation and profession.
