Earth

Are there any other places on Earth that we can go to besides whats on the map. Cuz I was wanting to do a rp involving my character going to Portugal and a few other real world places.

From what I can remember dbz didn't have the same structure of earth that we do.

Real Earth places do not exist in our universe. Victoria is correct in this matter.

Haha! I found the thread here.

I got permission to create a secondary fake Earth to suit my needs for a Crusades era battle situation. I wanted to refine Vad's combat skills, but never used the idea to it's fullest extent.

If you want, you could do something like the stuff that was mentioned in the thread, just follow the guidelines Josh and Admins pointed out.

There's always the possibility of creating "Portugal City," which happens to distinctly resemble realworld Portugal.

Indeed. The Chubbs Earth and the real life Earth are incongruent. You can draw similarities to it, but keep in mind that you need to come some distinction as well. Basically, don't just take the real thing, write as if its the real thing, and pass it off with the claim that its a Chubbs Earth city that happens to share the exact same details, down to the name and all. At least shake a few things up so that if someone is reading it and trying to immerse themselves into the Chubbs universe, they don't hit this part going "So Bob is hanging out in the Vatican City while watching the Pope and Obama argue over stupid things." For some, that sort of thing can ruin the consistency of the world they are reading about, snatching them out of it and making them lose their grasp on things, ruining it for them.

Suggestion: Write about a series of small, coastal towns and describe them in a such a manner that they'd be similar to Portugal.

IE: Ace traveled to the far south and west of the massive Earthen continent, and came upon a series of small villages that shared a rich culture and a foreign tongue. On his travels, he met one villager in particular, named Christiano Ronaldo, who was particularly talented in a game that involved kicking around an inflated ball with your feet - it was quite peculiar.

This is completely acceptable. I don't even think anyone would have an issue with you actually naming the game as soccer, in regards to this specific rpg. Its mostly the greater Earth related things that bother people (Countries - "Satsuya was born in Japan", Cities - "Jeebus awoke from his dragonball resurrection in a small coffee shop in New York City", Historical References - "The Holocaust was a terrible time for Central City, as Hitler marched through town exterminating all the Imperfect Cells that he could find", and similar concepts) and not as much more generic things or even product names ("Jeebus awoke from his dragonball related resurrection as the strumming of a guitar echoed past his ears in the Starbucks of East Pickle City", "Jules laid back in her chair, her fingers working the PSP like a pro", or "Tempo leapt into the fray, his Ipod blasting out the sounds of Stone Temple Pilots".)

I've tended to make many references to real life pop culture in Ashe roleplays, though I've avoided actually stating what they were (to the best of my knowledge) and I've seen others use small products for times when its just annoying to come up with a definition to it (Random example: Alexander smokes Marlboro Reds, Tempo listens to an Ipod - the products are actually named as specifics instead of "Capsule Corps cigarettes" or "CorPod Shuffle"). I don't think anyone has any real problems with those things, as they are minor and more for the sake of giving the reader a reference point that we can all understand.

I admit it did throw me slightly when I read ander/sage rp an ipod and specific music, but i understand the need to mix in a little bit of life. For me, I'm just happy keeping the world dbz only, so no nyc or canada.

In all honesty, that whole scene was a really elaborate lead-up to an incredibly stupid inside joke. :p

I like seeing real-life pop culture and products in RPs, and I'll continue adding them, but yeah, I tend to avoid real places or people, etc.

lol the mention of hitler made me laugh cuz hitler was in a dragonball gt episode that made me giggle when they blowed him up. But thanks for the ideas guys.

So If i decided to rp going as mentioned to a place not the exact same but SOME simmilarities it would be fine?

Also one final question. Is time travel possible in personal rp's? Like the character somehow uses something to travel back to a certain point in time?
