I've made a few adjustments to the Announcement link above. I fixed a couple of instances of bad wording as well as updated a few staff references (and this could still be messed up in a few locations, as I was only there to add something and just noticed these few things).
The thing I added is the following paragraph:
This is in response to a recent PM we received (very politely, and we are in no way upset about it) requesting that we remove all posts the individual had posted during his time on this site. We've had similar requests from Dana before. We don't mind this request and everything was handled appropriately, but I didn't think we had actually put our stance into the rules, so I added it now.
We don't actually have a problem with removing someone's work if they request it. What we do have a problem with is interrupting the continuity of a saga and possibly damaging another writer's work by suddenly removing the context in which it was written. In order to protect the other writers involved in a saga from devaluing their work, we do not wish to delete roleplays within a saga, even by request of the originator of said roleplay.
This clause, while unnecessary due to the nature of a message board forum already containing it, is a reminder that we are not legally required to remove the posts that are willingly contributed to this site by their originator. We may choose to do so if it isn't too much trouble, but that lies within us, and won't happen in a saga.
Thank you.
The thing I added is the following paragraph:
Quote:When you make a post on our forum, you accept that it becomes the dual property of Chubbs DBZ RPG and yourself. This does not mean that we will do anything with your work at all. This simply means an acknowledgement that we are responsible in the situation of a post not complying with legalities for removing it, and we also are not responsible for removing your work at your request. It is under our discretion as to when that is appropriate, and while we may not often have a problem doing so, we will not remove roleplays within a saga in order to uphold the structure of the writing of more than one person.
