Another Destiny is a play-by-post roleplaying game that attempts to mesh numerous fictional mediums together in one IC universe. While it maintains a focus on combat-oriented gameplay, characters from valid mediums could partake in just about anything, as long as what happens follows our general roleplaying guidelines. Our focus here is story and quality writing, although we have a small stat system implemented for those of you who like character building and customization.

By writing your roleplays and posting them in various threads, your character will earn experience points (XP) that covers anything that he or she will need to purchase to further growth. Through buying powers and abilities, players can create trademarks (TMs), which are just different implementations of said powers (example: Wartortle can control water and performs a Hydro Pump). In addition to these, items, which have different effects and benefits, can be bought with XP. You can justify your character earning these powers or items in whatever way you want—XP is not an IC concept, but the way in which you build your character. Just try to be reasonable in your explanations.

We do value quality here at Another Destiny, and we do have a standard level of writing ability. However, the most important thing is having fun while fostering your development as a writer. That said, quality is always an important factor during peer versus peer (PvP) and peer versus environment (PvE) situations. Most, if not all of these situations come during staff-run storylines that are generally referred to as “sagas.” The outcome of a fight or predicament will always be affected by how well you write.

You can still roleplay whatever you would have roleplayed under the old power up system. We just stopped being so specific in the actual system for the people who hated the old one.

Who said I gave a shit what I could roleplay? I'll roleplay what I want, when I want. That wasn't the point. When the difference between these things is

1) A system whereby you can take significant disadvantages for HUGE, dramatic boosts in power or come up with alternate 'forms', single or multiple tiers and viability if you never took one.

and

2) generic multiplying

saying that "oh you can still roleplay your old transformation" is missing the point so bad it hurts. While the system was initially thick as fuck, I enjoyed the act of character creation and stat development. It was like a game in itself.

That's how it sounds like it was changed to me, anyway. I haven't looked at it beyond hearsay.
