May I suggest the element of surprise or simplicity? Defence is also a nice tactic.

Alternatively, I incline more towards the perimeter assault, and therefore, if need be, we can send a strike force straight down the middle.

Although I think the more powerful units should be assigned to lead the center coalition, because if our enemy managed to nuzzle into the center, then our side forces are damned.

Best idea so far in my opinion. You can't go wrong with building a strong defense, and watching while all the others fight.
