Day One: Early Morning
#41
Adrenaline began to coarse through the red warrior?s veins as he aimlessly wandered through the forest, prepared to attack, or to defend himself from an ambush. He knew anything could happen on the battlefield. During the time of war, people often loose themselves in the heat of the moment, doing things that they wouldn?t normally do, savage things. Which was fine with Jeice, in fact it was what he signed up for, to appease his primitive urge to kill.

His hand traveled to his side and latched onto the small pack he was issued before entering the battlegrounds. It was khaki colored with a big number 29 sewed onto the front flap. He quickly unbuttoned the pouch and began rummaging through it. He slowly changed his direction and headed towards a large tree; he leaned his back into it and slid to the ground.

The red fighter opened the bag and looked inside. It carried basic survival gear, food, water, a compass. He reached in a pulled out a generic scouter. He examined the small instrument before attaching it to his face.

?This should come in handy.? He muttered to himself as he moved the pieces of bread and canteen out of his way.

As he looked deeper into the bag a sudden expression of confusion swept across his face, he was confused as to why he was staring at himself. Without hesitation he reached in and pulled out a mirror. The look of confusion quickly turned in to anger as he realized what he had been left with. People were walking around with guns, people that were looking for him were walking around with guns, and he was left with a mirror to defend himself with.

Blinded by his anger, he threw the mirror to the ground, causing it to shatter into four jagged pieces. Jeice gave the broken ?weapon? a blank stare as it dawned upon him of what he did. Although it was bad luck to break a mirror, he had just turned a useless item into a dangerous weapon. He slowly reached out and grabbed the now sharp pieces of broken glass, and placed three of them into his bag.

The red warrior then pulled out a map of the surrounding area. He sized up the grounds, pin pointing where buildings may be, or even a lake for water, but the rest of it was meaningless to him. He didn?t have any specific game plan, it was just to kill whoever he came across and keep moving. Of course in a situation like the one he was in, it would never work, and he knew that but he didn?t seem to care much.

His finger slowly slid across the button of the pouch and he closed it again and swung it to his side. Returning to his feet with his new blade, he began aimlessly walking once more through the forest, trying to find his first victim.

Garlic was pleased, very pleased, when Karl Jak's voice stopped raping his eardrum. Dammit but that thing's voice was grating. Now he let his eyelids fall and breathed in deep the midnight air. The crickets were a nice replacement, he let their song chirp in his head a little bit before exhaling and picking up his sack.

"On to death!" He yelled gallantly, his finger pointing at nothing. "For I too shall lie in the dust when I am dead, but now let me win noble renown!" Was anyone even watching? Holding on to his heroic pose his eyes darted about furtively for a camera. Fuck it. Garlic let his arm fall limp and shouldered his bag with the other.

"Death..." the goblin grumbled as he hobbled with the awkward sack, "nothing noble about that. Piss and shit everywhere." Garlic flicked a fly dancing about his nose out of the air and continued his march on through the brush.

Hints of the sun were beginning to highlight the horizon by the time he came to a stop, with no progress notable. He wondered idly if he'd make it through the coming day without a struggle for life. Part of him wanted that gamble, another, vaguely foreign, element in his mind preached caution. His gaze rested on a discerning sort of tree that would be a fine place of rest. That is to say, it was the same as every other tree there. He sat, pulled out a piece of bread and waited. Time passed. You know, he thought, its right now I could use a voice in my head. Nothing like being batshit insane to pass the time. But alas all he had was bread.

"Yesss, my precious." he hissed with a glint in his eye, "We are glad for the nice man's food, yes. No no no, Garlic hates nasty fag's bread. It chokes us!" Indeed he did choke a little, but on laughter not bread. No, his mind was clear this morn, if not quite on the weighty task ahead of him. On to death, he snorted derisively at his early turn of phrase. He waved his half eaten wheat at the rising sun.

"Here's to life."

Yamu would have whistled, but he knew to well how well the ears of Namekians worked to be so fool hardy. He just felt?good. It was a weird sensation to the veiny brawler, which only made him feel weirder that such a common emotion should do that to him. He sighed at sat with back resting on a particularly large tree. The tan juggernaut had been hiking for hours across some rough terrain?flying had spoiled him more then Yamu had thought.

He pulled out a hunk of bread and began munching the crusty grain, more for entertainment that actual sustenance. It gave him something to do as he gazed at the crowded heavens. The sky was full of stars, completely devoid of dimming light pollution. Yamu?s ebony eyes had gazed into the universe from multiple planets and he still could not believe there were that many stars out there. He flipped the scouter lens to the side so that he both of his eyes could see in the same tint. A low hill rose out in front of him, obscuring the rest of the rolling plains beneath it, a single, lonely hill. Yamu twirled ?Kari? between his legs, the bottom of the bat drilling into the ground in pace with his thoughts.

He could see his gravestone on the side of the hill, a forlorn marker of his resting place to go with the forsaken bulge of earth. He tried to shake the thought, but something that grim had a way of sticking with you. It was right there in front of him, a shadowy hunk of stone.

What would you say if I were gone today? How would I be looked upon by a passerby? What would they think of me?

?Yamu? was a given?but the four letters felt more alone then the hill and the tombstone combined. Loving father or husband, even son were far from applicable to him. None of the traditional niceties would ever be used to describe him?even if he wanted them to. He had recently earned the title ?The Conqueror?, but who wanted such a violent epitaph? It pigeon holed, it only spoke of war and death, not of any of the good things he had done. It was a part of him, but fell far short of being him.

?The Guardian of Arlia?? Most would probably just say it was a sham?truthfully, he had not performed any duties to earn that title yet. It might one day apply?but right now it would just be lies carved in stone.

?Knight of Namek?? He had pledged his life in defense of Guru, had even helped save the spiritual leader once?but how could a planet hopping adventurer like himself ever be there if he was actually needed a second time? He meant it when he said it, and would uphold it till he died, but Guru did not need him, Namek did not need him.

?Defender of Earth?? He had played a large part in saving the blue planet from the Icer Takeover?but he had actually spent more time on Frost?s planet then he had on the place of his birth. Yamu was more an Arlian then a human in his own mind. He had roots there now, people who depended on him. That just would not work either.

The hairless human stood once again, stuffing the half eaten bread back into his shouldered sack and resting ?Kari? on his other shoulder. He walked past where his imaginary tombstone sat and patted the imaginary space it occupied, ?Well, I guess it is just ?Yamu? for now. Let?s see if we can change that??

Serenity was still in control as he walked away but his smile was much more lackluster this time and his knuckles whiter on his wooden weapon.

Molecules realigned and his body took form as his teleportation to the battleground neared completion. He first felt the cool breeze colliding with his face, his eyes were closed and he let his nostrils kidnap some of the fresh air, seeping into his lungs. His chest expanded, and with the movement he let his eyelids fall back, and his deep black eyes gazed upon the stars of Dante once more. Squatting slowly, his fingers dug deep into the soft dirt, lifting some from its origin and letting it idle calmly in his hand; he soothed it with his stroking fingers. This was most definitely the bloodstained soil of Dante and he, the Dark Prince, was finally back. His return had been a long time coming, not one day had passed since last year?s competition that he hadn?t let the memories replay in his head.

He tread lightly, with nothing to weigh him down save his black clothing and his survival bag. The bag consisted of food, water and his weapon, a compass and a map. He knew from years past the food would not suffice his tastes or the duration of his stay on the planet; as he fully intended on staying until the completion of the tournament.

He had been teleported into the middle of nowhere, with no cover. Instinctively he had begun to carefully make his way towards the nearest bit of shelter, trees in this case. The motto of this tournament for as long as he could remember had been ?It?s not about killing? It?s about not dying.? It was a survival game by nature, and Minoshia thought about this often, because he couldn?t fully grasp the concept of a contestant not wanting to simply kill everyone; that was his strategy and it all seemed perfectly okay to him.

We have to pay them back for last year. We have to show them all what we are capable of. He stopped to think for a second, almost confirming with himself some sort of diabolic scheme, the simple ness of it all was obviously amusing to him as he grinned pleasantly. We?ll kill them all?

?? Blood shall stain the grounds we walk on, dying the soil red?? The prince soon realized he had gone from conversing in his mind, to talking out loud. Shrugging it off he continued to move on, his black eyes slowly lining themselves with his inner flame, his heart pumping faster. The Konat?s lust for blood was unmatched by any in this competition, his complete need for it. The withdrawal from his ?Life force? had been dragging out far too long, and it was time for blood to be spilled onto the ground before him.

As his small, quick body darted into the shelter of the woods, he began to speak to his mind once more. We are back, we are most definitively back, and It is time to unleash our fury upon these people?

?In Time, Death will come for them all??

The enveloping darkness was too consuming to give any sort of identification to the little beast. Whatever it was, or whom it had been, all instincts pointed towards defending herself. The agile android defended attacks, swatted away futile attempts to cause her pain, and she even returned the attacks. It was a short battle, but one that was victorious. She gripped the creature by their leg (it was then that she concluded that it was not some animal, but a humanoid) and tossed them into the air. Their body disappeared from the twilight and was not heard from again. The silence gripped onto her, and her heart thudded in her ears.

?That?s too bad,? she tilted her head as a bead of sweat caressed the side of her face. The female combed her slender fingers through her golden hair before continuing up the path. Although the sandy beach had been more pleasing, aside from the horrendously annoying seagull, she found this calm path to be pleasant enough. The trees whispered gossip to one another, and she gazed up at them in awe. Being a tree would be fun, she grinned at such a thought.

Hours had passed since she had awoken upon the island. Her pack had barely any food, yet she was forced to nibble and ration what she could. The sun was not yet evident, but the stars were beginning to hide. The lunar globe was no longer visible, whether due to clouds or the trees. She was forced to stare at the other side of the path, while she sat upon a dirty stump eating bits of bread.

There was no explanation for why she had chosen to go east. She did consider the fact that the coast had looked prettier this way, and had to nod at that simple answer. Her meal was over, and the sound of birds began to sound above. She wondered if they knew the seagull, and would pick up the task of bothering her too. Wearily she had to glance up and from side to side. It wouldn?t be fun to get bombed by birds. Whether it was bound to happen or not, she took to wandering along the path again, and toward whatever may be on the other side.

Bardock

Dante's Abyss TV Network had a special program called the VIP Pass. Once you bought it, you could track every person in the game on your television and watch them through your television. Right now, 96% of the viewers were on one area as two dots on the map got closer...and closer...

Bardock kept his arms folded over his chest as he stood by his bag, which rested next to a fountain. His old eyes scanned over the tombstones in front of him, as if contemplating the reason for them being there. It was ironic that here in the plains of death, he felt the most calm and peaceful.

That was when he saw a figure out of the corner of his eye. He immediately turned, clenching his fists at his side and preparing his legs. A familar womanly figure greeted him, standing in a similar position in case of a strike. She had been walking along innocently, contemplating life as a plant, when she had stopped to see who the figure was nearby.

Neither of them were particularly happy to see the other. Their last encounter in this game of death had resulted in both of their elimination. It was Eighteen who fatally wounded Bardock. It was Bardock who had killed Eighteen.

The saiyan father turned all the way and charged up only slighty to show his power. "Prepare yourself," he demanded. There would be no fake friendship this time. No more idle chitchat about teddy bears about romance. He was done with that bullshit.

As if on cue, a slew of wind blew past Eighteen as she dropped her bag. Her minor scuffle with the young saiyan earlier had been a warm up. Her blonde hair shuffled in the breeze, eyes sparkling with determination. She wanted to say something witty, like something Raditzu would say...but silence said it best. She was ready.

Bardock moved first, using a tombstone to leap into the air with a kick. Eighteen was faster, so she backed up to avoid it, using a wrist to stop it. When Bar landed, he used three jabs to her face to keep her back, only to be returned with an elbow to his gut. He tried blocking one punch, but her other hand countered and hooked him right in jaw.

Holding his aching chin, Bardock stumbled sideways. He could feel driplets of water begin to drop down, but he paid no attention. "Nice shot," he grimaced, and then used his hand to crack the joint in his jaw. All fixed.

"Thanks," Eighteen said, finally speaking. She then lept forward, using one of her legs to kick up the saiyan, but missed due to his flexibility. This time, it was Bardock's professional punches that shattered Eighteen's stance and threw her back after colliding with her chest, right between her breasts. She rolled back up very quickly.

The rain started to come down alittle harder, but neither paid any attention. Both moved forward at a walk, but once they collided, both exchanged punches. They didn't bother with defense, so the jabs got through, breaking into Bardock's ribs and gut, and Eighteen's side and thighs.

Finally, Bardock turned and ran a few steps towards the fountain in the middle of the aisles of stone. He jumped up onto the railing, spinning to face Eighteen. She had followed a couple steps, but then halted. Ki channeled into his hand fast...too fast for Eighteen to react. "HA!" He grunted, releasing the quick ball of energy.

As the blast connected into the face of Eighteen, she released a quick shot of her own. Bardock's upper left area of his head took the chi, causing a loud crunch into his skull. He fell backwards into the fountain, causing it to turn red with his saiyan blood.

Eighteen stood groggily for a moment. She held the spot the ki had hit. It hadn't hit particularly hard, but the rain coming down hard now had come into contact with the insides of her head. Upon feeling the area, she realized she had lost a small portion of her mechanical skin, and was now a mess of wires and blood.

With a sudden realization of the rain, she turned and spun off, leaving Bardock for dead, lying in a pool of his own blood. Once she made it into the forest with her bag, she suddenly stopped.

She would have kept going, if it wasn't for the sudden spark that exploded in her head, causing her to pass out and fall into the mud.

The mercenarey looked down at the corpse. He turned to Tapion, who held a weak, yet stern face. Did it pain the Konat to betray a stranger?

The mercenary looked down at the lifless body of the violet android, confused about what to do next. He knelt down and turned his dead victim over, looking at his face. A look of surprise and shock was set on his visage and the renegade could only give a sigh. He looked back to the Konat who only offered a shrug.

The rogue's emerald hand ran across the sharp nail that protruded out of the humanoids forehead. He brought his fingers to his mouth and tasted it. A mixture of oil and blood. Fifteen had been like he had thought, an android. The nameks eyes quickly darted to the back that lay near it's prey. Quickly, the mercenary brought his own bag to rest infront of him as well as the 'droids.

Tapion tossed his own to the merc, understanding that Retane planned to loot his foe. Quickly, the slug tossed all the bread into Tapions brown backpack and added an extra canteen of water. The Compass, map and other canteen was set into Retane's own cap, leaving the prey's bag empty. The namekian tossed the elish-like warrior, his bag back and offered a freindly-ish smile, telling him that he would protect his allies.

The renegade turned to the open emtpy sack and looked back to Fifteen. His eyes laid upon the guantlet that was lit up upon his wrist. Grabbing it, he pulled it close to his face to observe it.

"Battle Charger", the Konat answered, confirming Retane's thought.

Standing up and putting his black boot to the androids chest, the mercenary yanked and jerked on the mechanical arm unil a sickening rip brought the assassin to his ass. The namek, ignoring his shame, looked at the amputated arm and unclapsed the gauntlet.

"You could have done that in the first place."

Retane ignored the comment understanding that Tapion wished to move on from the sight. Thinking perhaps it was a rather smart idea. But the mercenary wasn't done. He crawled back to Fifteen, and with a quick movement, he slid his hand into the violet neck, tearing metal and wiring as he went. As his hand massed the back of the flesh, he wrenched his hand so that the head ripped off and rolled a bit.

Grabbing the severed head and stuffing it into the empty pack, he stood up, with both packs on his shoulders, nodding to Tapion and placing the charger on his free arm, letting Tapion know that he was ready to move on.

?Where people go?? The hulking fat giant had taken a snooze before the games began. When he woke up, he was on top of a hill with a large bag. ?YAAAaaa...? the sleepy alien yawned. ?Oh! What Dodoria gotz to eatz?!?? He quickly remembered the half-eaten, drool-covered, dirt-filled, bug-infested, along with other hyphenated adjectives, pillow he still had in his possession. He quickly shoved the white mass into his esophagus and preceded to swallow it. ??Em bugs make stuff yummy!

But Dodoria knew it was not time to fool around. In fact, he didn?t know what he was supposed to do at all. As he scratched his spiky head, he remembered that he had some sort of crazy container, with a flexible opening on top that could be closed either by a zipper or string or some kind of button thing the never really holds the damn thing shut, so when you pick it from the luggage, you see that half of your stuff is gone, and you made sure the damn thing was on, BUT IT STILL-

*SMACK*

Sorry about that, I seemed to have lost my head. Anyway, Dodoria looked into his bag to try to find clues to his dilemma. ?Let see, paper, a pointy thingy, some weird thingy, more weird thingys, bread, ...BREAD?!?! *muaf*? In an instant, the forever hungry being shoveled in the two loafs of bread he saw inside the bag and immediately swallowed the two pieces of bread, without chewing them. After quickly patting his tummy, the pink monster yelled ?That taste yummy! Dodoria wish Dodoria could wash down with somet- WATER!!! *muaf*? In the same style, Dodoria swallowed the water bottles whole and heard them hit the bowels of his stomach with a satisfying ?Sploop!?

?Ah, Dodoria?s tummy happy now! But Dodoria wonders...what Dodoria?s tummy see like?? As he pondered this question, he saw something in his pack, that looked similar to the video camera that the old man at the sign-ups had. Upon closer inspection, it was a video camera. He never used one before, but he figured that he finally knew what the competition was finally about.

?Movie making game! One with most gross movie win!? the unknowing pink fool publicly declared. ?Dodoria will win! Dodoria makes movie best!? Unfortunately, the dim-witted buffoon had no idea how to operate a camera, and wondered in anything in his bag had anything to say. Just as he thought about it, he pulled out an instruction manual for operating the video camera, which was titled, ?Instruction Manual for Operating the Video Camera.?

?Oh, mystery bag!? Dodoria began, ?You have everything Dodoria need. Dodoria?ll call you ?baggy!?? He skimmed the instructions to see what to do with the hi-tech equipment. He found that by simply hitting the ?REC? button, the machine magically films what you want to film. The overblown pink fighter also found that it has a long battery life. ?Dodoria has it! Dodoria has idea now! Dodoria gonna win!?

But before he could begin his new adventure, he pushed the ?REC? button. After he did so, a red light flashed on, and startled Dodoria. He fidgeted with the camera for a while, before finally aimed the lens at his head. ??Dodoria?s Gross Movie,? by Dodoria? the novice movie maker began. ?Step one, inside Dodoria. Are camera edible? We find out!? Having said those first few lines, the unstoppable eating machine presided to swallow the recording device. It slowly drifted pass his teeth, then into his throat and finally his stomach.

Having finished his meal, Dodoria picked up ?baggy? and move out from his first position. He wanted to find other thing that may gross people out, and he was also out of food. With his goals in mind, the ignorant gunball walked forward, unaware of what he was really walking into.

?Video camera yummy!?

The rays of the hot sun above beat down on the golden haired man who, unlike everyone else, had missed a majority of the day sleeping. He sat up and rubbed his eyes with his forearm. He immediately halted in his efforts as a he felt an immense stinging around his eyes. His skin had turned a bright red due to the harmful bashing the sun had given him all morning. It had to be just before noon by the way the sun sat, he had most certainly been at the whimsical of anyone who had passed, and it amazed him he was still in the game.

The blonde giant of a man sat up, the first step towards getting to his feet. However his body lurched as he was overwhelmed with the side effects of the toxins of the night before. A red, chunky fluid burst from his mouth soiling the ground beneath him. The liquid trapped within the crevasses of his mouth burned upon his already sunburned skin. Wiping his mouth with the backside of his hand he finally achieved his goal in standing.

As he stood, something caught his eye, it was his survival bag, and it bared the same cloth and emblems of last year?s competition. Only there was a slight difference between this year?s bag and yesteryears. Something inside the bag had forced its shape to follow it, causing the bag to be rather stretched out and rounded. Olibu opened the oddly shaped parcel, noticing familiar objects. A compass, bread, water, and a map where all in the bag, even the magical sun glasses from last year. Seeing those brought a smile to his face as he put them on and began messing with the buttons. He wondered what sorcerer they got to enchant them, they really were out of this world, Olibu?s world anyway.

He then found the culprit to the odd shape of the bag, a round globe that appeared to be made of some leather material. Olibu held it in his hands feeling the texture; he then began to apply pressure. After he had found no real use for it, he sank his teeth into the ball. Excruciating pain that comes from chipping a tooth jolted into Olibu?s nervous system through his mouth causing him to yelp in agony. It was at this point that the item had pissed him off. Olibu tossed the ball over his shoulder seeing no use of the object.

He suddenly felt a rather hard thump upon his head as the ball ricocheted off a rock and popped him one good. The attack alarmed Olibu causing him to dive face first to the ground, twirling his body, and blasting ki blasts aimlessly. Once the smoke cleared the ball sat upon the ground next to him, as if mocking him. The day had set out just as he thought, miserable and annoying.

?Ehh . . . its way too early for this.? The Namekian uttered to the early morning as Karl Jak ended his opening comments. ?Where the hell am I anyway?? Cargo spun three hundred and sixty degrees, trying to gain any clues as to where he had been transported; however, there were no landmarks that stood out to him. The only things of any interest were a few abandoned buildings. He inhaled deeply as he walked towards one of them, letting the air flow up through his nose, taking in the air of the competition. He had to get in the mindset of Dante?s Abyss. The teenager needed to become a killer. Metal Koola had done a good thing, by his standards. He had given Cargo a chance to get what he wanted, but it was up to the kid whether he would capitalize on the opportunity thrust into his lap.

?So, what did the lovely people of the tournament bestow upon be for the bloodshed?? the green teen asked himself. As he unzipped the thirty-seventh out of forty-four standard issue DA bags, a deprecating smile crept onto the Namekian youngling?s lips. ?This is going to be fun finding ways to brutally murder people with this.?

Silence overtook the child as he considered his previous words. As a child, Cargo talked to anyone who would listen, so being alone caused the kid to open up to himself. While they may have been comical in nature, the realization dawned on the jade-toned warrior that he might actually have to kill someone, by any means necessary. Cargo?s childlike side wouldn?t be able to do that. It needed to disappear for this game of survival and death.

?Find each other. Kill each other.?

The words of the strange host reverberated around in the adolescent?s head. All 43 of the other competitors wouldn?t hesitate to chop the small Namekian?s head right off his shoulders; Cargo had to be the same way. The child turned as he reached the doorway of the closest building, only to see two monkeys wrestling across the ground, looking similar to a tumbleweed blowing across a dusty road.

?Even the animals are into it . . . this will be fun.? This striking symbol motivated the kid and got his head fully into the competition. Cargo pulled out the map of the island as he entered the edifice and thought about the best plan of attack.

NPC Update

Gray Buu mainly hunted all day. He had no problem getting right into and raiding supplies from a shack for use in travel

Krug also hunted, and eventually slept. Nothing exciting here

Warren Peace remained in one spot for someone to show up, so he could stealthy eliminate them

Paige set up a camp and remained in that spot

Saiba wandered around, clueless

Jack Sparrow also wandered around, plotting out ideas in his head. Not nessecarily hunting, just looking for people

SAM-13 hunted as well but found nothing

The fish just weren?t biting. The saiyan warrior peered from his hiding spot and came to a realization that nobody was coming. He was finished camping at that area and it was time to move on. He slowly reached into his back pocket still watching, just in case somebody decided to show. The map was already torn on the left side. He picked his spot and stood up. Para lifted the leather strapped bag from the ground and ran toward his new spot.

He tore through as many species of plant he had to without getting whipped in the face. ?You know I really wish I got a machete in this thing.? It would have helped, but there was no time for talking, especially to himself.

Para?s eyes widened as he reached the zone of his choice. A large bald headed man stood in his path. Veins bulged from his head to his forearms. In his hands was a wooden baseball, in which he was clenching with dear life. The saiyan?s heart beat picked up and his thoughts went crazy. A large glob of saliva dropped in his throat with a load gulping sound.

The bat wielding warrior turned to the elderly saiyan. ?Who are you??

?My name is Paragus and I was wondering if maybe you needed a partner??

Sweat dripped down his head as he watched the unknown warrior ponder the proposal. He slowly dropped his bat from fighting position to resting. Para could tell that he still wasn?t completely sold about the saiyan.

?Listen. Im a trustworthy and noble saiyan. We are a proud race, one that doesn?t backstab or betray. I can also be of some use to you.?

Para reached behind him and slowly brought out his trump card. A bag with a large red cross emblem straight down the center. It was the weapon that Para was blessed with at the beginning of this ?game?. He was a real Clara Barton waving the med kit in front of the thinking warrior. Para couldn?t survive alone forever and he was in desperate need of a partner.

?The name is Yamu.? The warrior said dropping his guard.

Para breathed a sigh of relief and it was time to really get to know his new ally.

Kami continued running. He'd had a chance to look over the map and knew where he was headed. The moon was slowly making it's way across the sky like a lonesome tear sliding across the blackness of space. The sun was trying to glance over the horizon far off into the distance, still not allowed into it's domain by the decending moon.

He remained focused on the task at hand. He needed to be extra careful in these opening hours. Hitting a big group at this point would be bad news, and he was hoping to avoid some of the anoyances from last year. Hopefully they wouldn't be transported to another plane of existance either - that was never a walk in the park.

The old Namekian found a good spot to take refuge for the moment. He knew fights were breaking out, but hadn't noticed any big blips on the scouter and he hadn't heard anything noteworthy either. Not always a bad thing... he thought to himself.

The gras rustled in the wind, but it looked more like a thousand tiny arms waving around in blizted panic. A disant sound of the ocean surrounding the island was a normally calming sound, but only aided in reminding Kami how alone he really was, and how brutal this tournament could get. The fading moonlight glinted off a white flower before him. Without stopping to think why Kami paused and looked fondly at the flower. Something about it was relaxing, the way the light hit the pedals as they fluttered in the breeze.

His relfection lasted only for an instant, and then he was on the move again. His cloak flowing behind him, Kami ran onward. If he found a building somewhere he might wander around inside, but he wasn't quite sure yet. He hopped over a large rock but didn't miss a stride. A grin with hidden meaning stuck to one side of his face and the wind blew his antenna back as he ran. No stopping me now...
