That would probably be up to the person you're roleplaying with. Some people might like the image they chose so much that they want it to be based on that. An example would probably be Dracula Man, since his picture is so different than the one in the anime. Others might just want the picture as a representation of their character, and they prefer that you select the anime picture. It would really depend on each person.
