Yeah, ki isn't at all light, that's just how it's commonly translated to the naked eye. The fact that Vegito could make invisible ki waves is evidence to this fact.

If you know enough about light, not really. Although light does not normally exhibit teh kinda characteristics of ki. We just see light come off of most ki like we do a rock or the bag of chips in front of me.

The Nameks are very close to plants. They have the ability to reproduce asexually and they can regrow broken limbs. There are no male/female Nameks - they're all unisex (though they all act stereotypically of the male gender). Furthermore, also like plants, Nameks don't need to eat anything; they survive just on water.

Well, theoretically, everything exhibits some form of electromagnetic radiation, and ki would certainly be no exception. It just happens to exhibit visible light for the most part. But ki, in itself, is not light.
