Tournament?

*snort* yea I can go one on one with Kami -_-. I dont care how good you RP, 30 mil ki difference is just to much. But it does sound like fun 1 on 1. But i agree with fieza. Sagas are funner, but does it have to be a tournimat?

Actually, I tend to prefer the 1 v 1 tourneys whereas RPing takes the major role.

I agree with Broli. RPing should be the major factor upon declaring a winner for a tourney, however, as Garlic sort of said, I would be really really mad if I won against a Super Saiyajin without one helluva good reason. It's just not realistic.
However, I agree the most with Frieza, a true-blue saga would probably be the most interesting thing for me, gives you the element of a deeper storyline than being forced into a tournament/entering a tournament. (Although, in the staff's defense, Launch (LMS) was hella cool)

Anyway, while RPing should be the deciding factor in a fight (and I agree with this theory completely) I just don't see someone RPing over a 30 mil+ power difference. That's one of the major p2p handicaps this RPG (and the staff who tried to come up with stuff for them) faces. A bad guy that's uber-powerful to Pan, Burter and 16 is just run-of-the-mill to 18, Kami, and the others at the top of the list.

I've been milling over a saga, as the staff knows, and I'll see if I can get it all worked out. I would like to see people roleplaying in a big saga again, its been a while since anything like that has really happened.

Isnt it funny that they had that problem in DBZ too? All the little sluggs struggling along and then a couple days late goku strolls in and takes care of them in 2 secconds.

You could always have a two-sided tournament, one side where the stronger members battle it out, and the other where the weaker members can compete...

Don't know how big it would be tho. And besides, you could always have a tourney that restricts super powers. That would even things out a bit. Furthermore, there's always the possible usage of NPCs, such as if the brackets were uneven.

I know all of those ideas have been proposed before, Broli. I don't know how many of them have been tried. I know I could limit myself to using KK. That would even me out with most of the newer players. Kami probably doesn't care if hes in it or not. I can't speak for anyone else. NPCs could be used, but that means someone would have to write for them.

The problem with sagas is simply the time. Who, among the staff has the time to run a full-scale saga? I know I don't. MAYBE with three or four people actively helping it could be done. Don't get me wrong though, its not the time it takes to draw out a three month long saga thats the problem, its the time required to keep a saga alive and moving. I'm sure every last staff member here knows the woes of trying to do THAT.

Again, I'm still thinking of launching the saga I proposed earlier. Well... thinking isn't really the right term. I guess you could say I'm waiting until I have the time to write it. Starting it right now wouldn't be a good idea, but I just finished my last round of midterms, so I might do it next week. We'll see.

Sagas are hard to run, I know you tried to run one that died 18, so you should know that Tournaments are simply easier to hold together.

But they're over done. What we need is something fun, not long, but not pact full of just fighting and tournament. I didn't say it had to be a three month old saga, and my saga was just me trying to put forth some effort, but people were just not feeling active about it.

I just think tournaments are over done. Is that all this place was meant for?

What sagas? I only remember 1, the one I tried to make. By saga I mean staff saga.

All that Dragonball ever offered for sagas is tournements and everyone fights one big bad NPC... take your pick.

Think logically for a moment. I don't really think that the staff could support a full blown saga for the time being. I know I wouldn't be able to put in the time, I've got too much going on these days. It needs constant surveillence and the ideas need to keep coming, not to mention that there needs to be a decent amount of participation. Tournaments can be created and looked over every so often and still live.

Although the tournaments idea has been overused, I put my vote to it.
