Friend or Foe 3 Questions and Discussion
#1
Friend or Foe is a saga in which characters will work together (or against, if you wish) to survive. FoF1 was simple enough, fighting an evil psychopath. Said psychopath returned in FoF2 and accidentally started a fight between Heaven and Hell. This time, a new psychopath has decided to revive the hit show, Friend or Foe.

The summary of the story is this: Your characters, whether voluntary or forced, will participate in a mad man's game show that will put you through ridiculous obstacles and constantly put your life at danger. These includes haunted houses, arena battles or full-on Saw-style horror stories.

Eventually, your characters will have to band together to fight this. Of course, things are never as they seem, and eventually...people must start disappearing.

While the game is for the most part cooperative, you're also competing, but OOC. Each round, a pre-determined amount of people will be eliminated for the getting the lowest points, while some people will get rewards for having the most. Eventually, we will get down to four people, and hold the finale.

Elimination will usually come in the form of an IC reason to be kicked out, like teleporting, or being knocked. Sometimes, it can mean death. Anybody is subject to death, so join at your own risk.

Your character must be on Earth at the time this game starts. Your can decide, when you sign-up in the other thread, if your character volunteers for this show, or is forced into it.

The game begins next Friday.

Feel free to ask detailed questions here.

I'll get the big two out of the way:

1) How are you going to be scoring people?

2) What are the rewards?

I also have a question regarding sign-ups. Do you want people with sign-ups like "if I finish [X] by friday, then I'll be in it" or do you only want to hear from people who are absolutely signing up for sure?

EDIT: I might also suggest that the answer to this question (regardless of what it is) be put into your Sign-Up thread.

On a number scale. There will be a roleplay limit, probably 2-ish depending on the round and the deadline, and I'll give scores 1-5.

This is subject to change

Quote:2) What are the rewards?

Round Rewards will be strictly in-saga advantages and won't carry over after the saga is over.

The ending rewards in the saga will be XP, zeni, and possibly techniques. No abilities.

Only people who are 100% sure.

If you don't already have a character profile under your roster, I highly recommend getting one added, otherwise your initial screentime in the saga roleplays will be limited since I know nothing about you.

If you want to send me a quick summary via PM instead, that's fine.

Will you be keeping a roster of competitors?

Will the threads be styled in the same way as FoF2? (that is to say with the saga having its own forum and every round groups would have their own thread going up)

How many players are you accepting if there is a cap?

What sort of OOC things will be going on with this saga? I always enjoy the OOC things that go along with your sagas.

To me, the thread is less about criticizing/defending Avatar and more about wondering how stoned Jack was when he saw the movie/made the thread.

I haven't decided if I'm going to have my own forum or just cram it into the Earth thread. What do you guys think?

If I do make my own forum, I don't mind making a sub-forum for people to post their own little FoF profiles if they want. Again, what do you guys think?

No cap, but the more I end up with, the more double/triple eliminations I'll have to pull off to make sure we don't go on forever.

I never really did anything special OOC-wise with FoF, but again, if you guys want, we can always find stuff to do like discussion, predictions, C&C or contests. Again...I've never had OOC stuff with FoF like I did with DA, so this is a new area for me

I'd personally like to see it have its own forum, and I'd also be into posting my character info in a sub-forum. I think it adds to the feel of the saga.

=3

Is FoFII archived somewhere?

I know you said "not to worry about it" in the signing up forum, but just out of curiosity, how do you plan on bringing the characters (who chose to be "forced" into the show) to the place where FoF3 will take place?

I won't be going over exactly how they are rounded up, except maybe a couple who's characters I'm actually familiar with. For most people, their debut into the saga will be after they've already been captured and brought into the show.

If you arn't actually told how it happens (and this goes for just about everything in the saga), you've got as much creative control as you want.

Yush. It just isn't a saga without its own forum, not to mention it makes for load easier reading opposed to picking out the saga from personal role plays on Earth.

You seriously can't figure out a saga from the other threads with the gigantic [SAGA] tag on the front?

...Wow.

In any case, I don't care how you do it.

We can figure it out but it's more than just figuring it out, it gives a different feel to the saga. It's more fun to be a part of a saga that's organized and well presented in its own forum than a saga that's cluttered and all over the place in the Earth forum, mingled with people's personal roleplays that could be going on at the same time.

It also makes it easier to go back and read later.

It's way too cluttered with one thread. So yeah, I think it should be in its own forum.

Fair enough, I guess. It makes little difference to me, personally, but if that's the general consensus I'd say let's go ahead with a separate forum.

I think it should have it's own forum for similar reasons as Dimitri.

Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

I prefer having it in one of the existing forums for technical reasons.

It is actually quite easy to have forums that should be rewarding XP, not. I'd just assume that everyone would rather be ensured their XP than have to scroll through a longer thread.
