To the Shelter!
Jericho's better than people give him credit for but he's quite fragile. The robot is apparently pretty good (never used him). Um, that slaver chick is ...well, she's strong but she's as dumb as a sack of bricks. I can't recall who that leaves...

OH! That paladin in the BoS. Yeah, she's okay, but you WILL shoot her in the back of the head ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

Helpers are one of those things that make me hate this game. Overall I think it's good, maybe even great, but jesus how much better it could've been.

You can always... not use them.

I know, it's just wasted potential. If they'd done it well, teammates could have added a lot of depth to the game.

I suppose.

But I dunno, even if the AI for the followers had been perfect, I still wouldn't have used them, so I just don't see it as much of a loss.

The only part about the followers that kills me is the ending. Fawkes, Charon, AND the robot could have...

Maybe it was just the PC version (is anyone else playing PC?) but the Ally AI wasn't bad at all. I never had a problem with my helpers getting into the way although some were not that helpful (ie Dogmeat).

I found that the guy from Megaton kept attacking EVERYTHING in sight. Maybe it was my error, but It was really annoying when trying to travel.

A fire ant finally killed him.

EDIT: On another save I tried using him again, but found launching the mini nukes at his face much more fun. >.>

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

So I've just met President Eden, and I'm not sure what to do. To kill him or to do his will. I'm guessing doing what he asks would be considered the 'bad guy' thing to do, and right now I've been pretty much exclusively good. Decisions, decisions.

I think that decision just gives you a karma shift. I don't think it sets anything in stone.

It sets your ending in stone. If you place the filter something happens after you beat the game. If you don't, well....I placed the filter and stopped playing so I'll never know.

It does not set it in stone. It only changes the ending if you actually follow through. If you simply agree to the Prez's plan, you have every opportunity to say 'fuck it' and not do it.

It's a game with a fairly poorly written end-game. Mistakes are easy to come by. :p

I'm telling you. Black Isle handled the franchise a million times better than Bethesda.

Too bad they're broke.

The ending is partly so half-assed because they're scrapping it with the "Broken Steel" DLC anyways and continuing the story. =(

That's lame.

"Here's most of a game... you'll have to download the real ending later, though."

I liked the way the ending played out story-wise, for the record. Just wasn't executed well.

Part-games for full-prices are Halo territory. Nobody else should follow that trainwreck. =(

...Wha? Is that a Halo Wars reference? Because I'm pretty sure Halo 1, 2, and 3 were whole.

Halo 1 was whole. I guess. Halo 2 and 3 were two halves of the same game.

EDIT: *Opinion post* (D'uh)
