The consumables don't shut down. Add to that, you have to repeatedly buy them over and over, stunting your own personal growth. Add in that its a team based game, and you are looking at possibly stunting your growth enough that you fall behind the opposing team for a POSSIBLE advantage in a situation that can be avoided. The stealther can see the buffs you have up and refuse to engage with you, just dodging around and picking off people that don't have it.
Its a bit different in the 3v3 map because they can for a three man gank party, but if they are focusing on dealing with you, your team mates can burn down one of their members as well. Otherwise the stealther can hang off to the side and come in from behind when the fight is happening. If they are aware enough and have the reactions to then deal with that while you are stealthed (its shows a slightly darker outlined version of you) then I feel they SHOULD have an advantage, since that's fairly twitch reflexes, pardon the pun.

Whether or not you have to buy more of them depends on the game. Vision Wards get their own stealth, which means you have to buy your own Elixir just to take them out (which is ridiculous enough on its own) and its possible for someone to only ever need one Elixir. Not likely, but definitely possible. The vision wards also don't display a buff on people, so you have no idea whether or not they can see you.
I disagree that it doesn't shut down. The characters with stealth are built around using their stealth as both a method of engagement and mitigation. Its like saying taking away mana regen wouldn't really hurt a mage because they can still attack.

Well, I just started, and after realizing there was a general difficult statistic associated with each one( I randomly clicked the ice phoenix my first couple games...) I like Tristana. A fun diversion, although I don't think I'll be devoting days to it with my Xbox getting back from repairs sometime today, Dragon Age next weekish and then Raging Blast a week or two after. Pretty fun, though.

You probably will. It's a nice game to be played with friends once in a while and a nice diversion if you overdid a game. I kicked in this pre-season by winning 4 times in a row, although I hate when some random douche gets fecking 34 - 18 and then boasts with it and all I can say is I killed 12 and didn't die once. :<

Eh, my girlfriend won't play and my roommate's computer apparently vetoed the idea, and the matchmaking thing isn't working out (5 PuGs of varying skill vs. coordinated group of people who have the apparent gold group of the pink stealth chick, the giant gold robot guy, the dart dude, the ice archer and some red monster thing.
Seen it every time, 5 of us newbs vs. that group, different names, same smearing all over the wall.

Woot! I found what I think will be my champ of choice: Gangplank. Melee sucks kinda, but parley does a buttload, and a heal/cureall? Hells yeah. Tack on an ass-kicking ultimate and a humorous if rarely used(by me anyway) and we've got love =D

The thing I love about Gangplank's ultimate: No range. You can use it anywhere on the map FROM anywhere on the map.

I'm lukewarm about Gangplank's ultimate. In the... three games? I played with Jax being Gangplank last night, I didn't get hit with a single cannonball from his ultimate. Not once. Every single time I just walked out of the range (and then usually stealthed).

So, as an FYI, all champions are unlocked as part of their "Launch Celebration." Everyone will have access to all of the champions for "several weeks" so you can earn money and XP with a champion you actually like.

About the ultimate, yeah, they nerfed it to that form. However, I've equally had retarded situations where I'd see the circle, hear the laugh, and be on the edge of the spot. I'd immediately start walking off (slowed of course) and the very first canon would drop directly on my head for the kill.
This has happened a few times. I'd say the randomness is annoying at times, but its still a VERY strong ultimate, and its not random to the point of useless like Wild Card is.

Well, the thing I like best about it is the discovery that it can go anywhere. I like to let a player or two farm a lane, and if none of my team is there most people let themselves get pretty low before they'll bother leaving, and that's when I strike. It's also pretty decent for defense, like, if you're being pushed back you can use it to force some breathing room unless the other team wants to get hammered, and most opposing champs just leave a lot of the time since it winds up with a substantial minion advantage for me at that point since theirs got cleaned out.
It almost never actually kills someone, but it gets 'em close enough for a parley a lot of the time, and if you're winning if breaks apart the endgame defense pretty well too, since everything winds up grouped around that last couple towers with all 5 champs from each side going nuts.

A lot of times you can be pressing the offense, and usually in that time you realize they are in your base with minions on your second turrets, so you can fire that and clear out their minions fast. Then THEY have to eat the turrets, which usually means they leave and recall to deal with your push.

I usually save it to cover my own ass, though. I feel it's wasted if I don't kill a champ with it.
I remember when I barrage'd you from the other side of the map, and every cannonball hit you as you ran away. Shit was funny time.
