I disagree, Panth and Taric are very strong heroes individually. Pantheon is just a little more 1 man oriented. He possesses the same abillity to pop in and down one character before he gets harsh focused. Taric is just such a solid support char overall. He has a good stun that has almost no cooldown. His shatter does a lot of burst damage early game. His heal, with the help of Golem Buff can be just as annoying as Soraka and his ulti can down a tower with ease.

I would rather have a good Shaco over a good Taric or Pantheon as long as the rest of the team isn't completely rid of CC/support.

I'm fairly happy that Morgana is incredibly unlikely to get banned. I'd prob play Annie as my second choice just in case, both as a mid solo plan, given that my runes can work well for either of them. If it weren't for runes and masteries being set a bit in that direction, I'd consider someone more dps oriented like Ashe, Tristana, or whatnot, or maybe even consider purchasing Shen and using him as a tank, but that's pointless if I'd have to swap all my masteries and runes on the fly in order to go between those two.

I'd probably agree with that 75% of the time, but the conversation was revolving around Season One and playing in draft games.
I'd put money that 9 games out of 10 will have Shaco banned.

I wouldn't. Shaco's too easy to shut down.

No?
The last four or five games where I have laned as Shaco, he hasn't so much as dented me. If he's harrassed early game and you play defensively, he's pretty useless.
EDIT: where I have laned against

Why is he even staying at one lane? That sounds like a pretty bad Shaco. Our own Zhu can testament to that, you never saw him sticking to one lane more than a few minutes before he dashed off and killed someone. Besides, in terms of shutting down, a Pantheon can get ganked easily because he has no escape moves, neither has Taric. Shaco can go through walls and turn invisible. glhf.

I'm just saying that if you're generally mindful of a Shaco on the other team, it isn't as difficult to deal with as some people say it is.

That really depends on the Shaco to be honest. It's true if you play very well and place wards strategically, you can fight against Shaco. But when Shaco is jungling, as to compare when Warwick is jungling, you cannot simply wok into mordo-- uh, ward the golem. Shaco will simply just Deceive over the wall and be gone and all you can do is either risk picking up his golem with him coming back with reinforcements or go back, only momentarily interrupting him as he dashes over to grab another buff.

Also, I'd ban Cho Gath because he feasts on my turrets. Damn him...
Edit: While I'm at it, Nunu as well.

Yes and no to this statement. Most Shaco's are pretty easy to shut down, but a lot of the good ones will destroy the game. However, there is the risk of Shaco not being the harsh carry as, let say, an Ashe might be. I've been in games where I've had more than 25 kills, completely shutting down their carry, but still end up losing the game in late. The risk you run with being a Shaco is that during late game, your team must catch up to your level of "farmed-ness" in order for you to win the game. Thing with Shaco is, you pop in kill that one character everyone hates most, get focused, and if you manage to pop out your team still dies.

Yep. The mentality of "wtf shacos on their team we're gonna lose" I think is wrong.

Best way to deal with Shaco is to put a cheap ward (the non stealth seeing one) into the grass in both sides of mid going into river, and then into the grass at top and bottom rivers. Most Shacos will run into the grass before stealthing their way to you, letting you see them prep if you are watching for it. A few times I've seen them throw up their box to kill the ward though, which is a bit annoying.

Unfortunately, not everyone likes to invest in those.

Shaco is going to a non-element in draft play. With 4 bans between the two teams, he'll be banned every single time.
That said, I agree with Zhu. Shaco = excellent ganker. Excellent ganker != excellent carry.
The number of champ kills does not (and never has) determine who wins the game.

Which is exactly why Shaco used to be an awesome carry. He could turn into two and rape a tower after cleaning the lane. Now with the changes to the clone, I'm unsure.

I won't be on tomorrow night due to Tuesday nights being a Magic night with friends, but I don't figure that'll bother anyone since it seems LoL interest has crashed a bit in the last week or two.
