At some point in the near future it's going to be the weapon I obtain and master. If I'm going to master a weapon, this is what I'll take to.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

@Kami: Well yeah, but anyone can shoot a gun and hit something with moderate accuracy. It comes down to personal preference I guess. That and the fact that an arrow can pierce bullet vests kind of intrigued me.

Who told you that?

The cure is a shotgun, the cure is whatever blunt instrument one can salvage.Whomever finds themselves too proper will be the first to perish. And you know nothing that matters now.

No one told me. I read it. A bullet proof vest is designed to absorb the energy from the impact of the slug. It isn't designed to stop piercing weapons IE: a knife or something with a blade.

LOL A cheap vest can get pierced by a arrow or sharp item. The military grade vests you wont have much luck with. A buddy of mine has that works for the police department has a military grade that he uses it's a bit heavier than your usual you see cops with. His can stop "Cop Killer" Bullets designed to pierce the average vest.

Military grade vests are reinforced with ceramic plates capable of stopping buckshot. They weigh about 6 pounds a piece. It's pretty much common sense to know that different variants of material will handle different projectiles, but in general an arrow is capable of piercing one. I mostly read about it piercing Kevlar. The heavier material can easily stop it, but the whole point is that the type of projectile used is different.

It's the same concept as chain mail being designed to stop cutting blows, but it was completely ineffective against piercing weapons.

I know it doesn't pertain to arrows v. body armor, but this is an image thread.

But yeah, it has less to do with 'cheapness' or even 'heaviness' but only whether it was made to protect against piercing with inserts and particular weaves, which most polices ones are nowadays. It won't matter if you shoot 'em in the face though!

I've been looking amorously at some Mongolian recurves, or any steppe recreation really. Those and these albion swords.
