At the very beginning I decided for my own shits and giggles to do the SUSPICIONS RATING LIST, and arbitrarily pick a single person to continually accuse regardless of where my other suspicions went. Anyone here play Starcraft Phantom Mode? I play the shit out of that and it's basically the RTS version of Mafia. However, that apparently translates 0% into this because I have no idea how people reached any of the conclusions they did. Only person I ever figured out was Leo, but as far as figuring out who the Mafia are I'd be useless.

I definitely think that for the next game, have one stickied thread of explicit rules, including specific rules for each of the roles. Just to clarify things for people, yeah?

I thought I died for inactivity? Was I double whacked? I didn't get to post on my last phase.

Hate the fact I finally scooped on a mafia and died though, I had a grand reveal prepared but then I had to go sleep. : (

I find the mafia, each night phase I also got a PM and I could check on people. Should have checked JD on the first night but on the other hand, if I had gone around saying "I definitely know he's mafia cuz I the sheriff" I would have got a cap in my ass.

But there's so many variant rules! Every time I've played, things have been a little bit different. *begins sobbing hysterically* IT WAS JUST TOO MUCH TO TAKE IN.

Also, Meer said there was going to be extra roles. Those would need specification as the bonus roles often do wildly different things depending on the group.

The only people who need to know about the special roles are those with the special roles.

Mafia is a game of information. Part of that game involves lacking information. The Mafia, as a rule, have more information than the townspeople, but even they don't have ALL the information.

But yes. There are repositories all over the interwebs for the typical roles.

Basically, don't make any assumptions for the upcoming game. There will be special roles. There will probably be mechanics you haven't seen before. The game WILL be balanced, but it will be a game of somewhat more chaos. Both the Mafia and the Townspeople will, as a whole, have greater and more diverse (and hidden) powers.

THAT SAID, if we get a dedicated sub-forum for these games (if they really take off), I don't have a problem with constructing a sticky to solidify some of our rules.
