The Like/Hate Thread
Hate: My sister, the super-bitchtard.

Me and my mother's relationship is primarily built upon argument. Friendly, mostly. We have absolutely nothing in common in belief or in action, so the respectful comparison of different beliefs is about the closest we can get to camraderie.

Unfortunately, my sister is an idiot. Unfortunately, my sister often jumps into arguments she doesn't really understand, and concocts ridiculous straw-men from what's being said, becoming more and more upset when I attempt to correct her. Inevitably, she becomes more and more belligerent and goes on loud and screechy rants about how she refuses to believe this thing-that-I-never-argued-in-the-first-place.

Around here, I usually say something like 'Are you being purposefully dense?' Which obviously doesn't help.

And, usually around here, she goes batshit insane, and my mother jumps back in and says 'You know, she's right, Chris.'

And I deny that she's right, usually saying 'No, she doesn't understand what I'm saying.'

And my sister gives the pinnacle of her crazy-ass, disconnected-from-reality rants.

And then I, thoroughly frustrated, use some profanity (in today's case, twice calling her a bitch), which ends with both of them extremely upset, usually with my sister slamming two or three doors in the house. She's broken plates in the past.

This is a recurring theme, and you'd think one of us would learn by now. I usually don't recognize what's happening until we're at the first 'batshit insane' phase, and by that point I'm usually too frustrated to just walk away.

Moral of the story: I need to get the fuck out of here and get my own place.

Living on your own=best shit ever. My parents and I have never been closer, so to speak, than when I'm not sniping leftovers at 2am and they're not telling me to take the trash out.

I really should learn how to properly play magic one of these days, maybe with this Phyrexia it would be a good time.

It would be really creepy getting one made of yourself, especially if it looked as realistic as the grey haired one. It looks younger than the model, but otherwise when it's not moving much, I'd never guess unless I got close

I just love how stunned the replicants looked at all times. Like they're aware of the fleshy horror of their existence.

Also, I'm pretty sure the grey haired one is the most recent, followed by the girl, and the other guy was the oldest. Hence the varying degrees of realism.

Welcome to nearly 900 years ago. (In regards to pay). Soldiers were paid little if they were paid at all. Royalty can be such a bitch to it's people.

Which, in particular, are you talking about?

It shouldn't be forgotten that in many cultures, the soldiers were middle-to-upper 'class.'

My facts might be off, but I was shooting at 1183. I know for a fact that Roman soldiers floated around middle-to-upper class, but the English armies under Richard were hardly paid if at all.

feds do this shit to like, EVERYONE under their employ. My mom is a contractor and she won't get paid for like, 3 months at a time. They pay you a little bit of interest, but it's not really worth it lol.

Not too worried bout it.

Invalid includes? Like what?

Josh Wrote:Invalid includes? Like what?

Well, he had header files attached:

#include "win.h"
#include "OpenGL.h"

Compile, get error with visual studio being like "wtf is this shit"

Preen through all the files included with the homework and come up dry. There's nothing on the internet about either of these, so they're not standard libraries or anything like that.

Email him saying I'm having the issue. He's all "Herp! Didn't actually include the header files. I updated it now, so download it again."

The second problem was similar (in that he does his include files really stupidly). The include files are kept in, like, one step under the root menu. The actual homework is about 3 directories in. (Class -> Lesson1 -> Include / Programs -> HW -> 6/7/8) I had moved the entire root folder at some point to put it in the designated class folder. This apparently destroyed the linked path to the include files. I had to redownload everything since I wasn't even sure what was unlinked in the process. Groan.

This is the touchiest programming I have ever done in my entire life, and none of it has to do with my code.

Harsh.

So what was your assignment?
Reply
Josh Wrote:Harsh.

So what was your assignment?

Part one was literally "Run these five to make sure your Visual Studio is up to date."

Then I had to make a vector and point class in C++ that did all the nifty things that vectors and points do. He declared all the functions, I had to convert the maths into algorithms (which, thanks to his awesome test driver, I know I got correct).

Then I got to make a little program based off his sample ones where the user clicks and an arrow points from the origin to their mouse click to make a vector. Science!

Parts one and two are where I had the respective errors. Part three was, strangely enough, fairly error free.

It's good that everything worked out for you.
