This is the sign-ups for Dante's Abyss 2011. If you'd like to take part, then post here that you're in. Please don't sign up if you know you won't be able to write in the saga. This will be start on May 18th, and then the IC sign ups will begin.
What to expect?
No grid.
Weapons.
Number grading depending on activity and quality.
We write the fights.
CA will not effect the fights. It's all on writing and activity.
Everyone is placed on a planet, you RolePlay in an open area where there are mercenaries and monsters. This is a chance to build up your score. 3 OOC days after landing, everyone is dragged into a fight, 1vs1. Sometimes this will change, but most of the fights will be 1vs1. The fight will end after 1 OOC day, and the winners return to the Training Grounds to build up their score again.
Your score is made up from TWO posts of your choice. You should RP at least twice during the Training Ground phase to get a good score. Matt (Sophia) and I will be grading those two posts, and averaging the grade. That grade will help in your fight. Weapons will also add to that score. The higher your score, the better your chance to win.

Fights are written by the person/people running it, like DA 06. Otherwise, you've pretty much got it. You can post as much as you want during the designated times, but you'll be submitting your two best for your grade.

None whatsoever. I realize that this raises a problem, as it always does, but this is a matter of personal preference above all else. There's just...not a whole lot of point to fights if power basically determines the outcome.

I'm interested, but, as Belle stated, this is coming at the end of a very drawn out tournament, and I don't think that I will participate. My 'writing career' at Chubbs is likely nearing its end and I'd prefer to take the time I have left to finish my story.

I'm interested, but I'm trapped at home with limited internet and I'd rather spend my fragmented free/not-being-pissed-off-at-being-home time working on my Red Stallions thread.

It's really hard to say. It depends on how many people we get. Having said that, it's possible that it will end before the 22nd.

Once my term is done (three more weeks?), I've gotta, y'know, hang out in the afterlife for a bit and then do Red Stallions.
I really really wanted to do DA, too, but RS was solidified first. Perhaps could you guys move back the date a bit? You'd get a lot more participants, methinks.

Sounds like an interesting setup, I'd be interested if I could drag myself into activity - but Red Stallions comes first.

Dante's Abyss has been a community thing for a long time. If people want to do their own thing, or do the Red Stallions, who am I to stop them? I'm just disappointed that no one wants to try and make this work. It's happened every year...and so what if it's two new people doing it? I'd at least like for it to be given a chance. It won't run for long, given the amount of people who MIGHT join, really not long at all.
But, I get it, everyone has their niche and clique's. Maybe we'll try again next year. If we're even here.
