As a note, Mal, the only person I will ever actually yell at is Weemus. I might get frustrated when somebody is playing stupidly when I know they're better, but I would never hold it against somebody that's new to the game. I do try to explain the reasoning behind why we might tell you something, but that is not intended to be condescending. The same goes for pretty much everybody else.

You get varying degrees of people who are done with a game at 20 minutes. 20 minutes is, of course, the earliest a team can surrender.

EDIT: There are definitely situations where you might as well surrender at 20. If you're 8 kills behind Trynd, Yi, and Annie, for example, your team is almost certainly going to lose no matter what.

The awful part about League of Legends is that comebacks are also going to be 100% reliant on your team. They will need to fuck up. If you initiate on an fed Annie and everyone engages on her, she will still wipe the floor with you if she's fast enough.

If she misses Tibbers on the other hand...

Never Give Up! Never Surrender!

I've played around 5 or so games where they've had my team pushed back to the base Towers and inhibitors all blown to hell. Turned around and after TONS of dying and trying to scramble to stay afloat, we've managed to be the one to take their Nexus.

As a matter of a fact I just played one >_>

We were pushed and were on the brink... We kept alive and Yi wound up back dooring bot up and destroyed their inhibitor. It took him a few tris though. We managed to get into another fight in Mid, where most of them died and I managed to get by with just enough health to recall.

Trust me it was a pain because they had Alistar, Cho, Teemo, And two others. Alistar is a hard horse to kill and I wasnt really able to until late game.

But when i recalled, Yi had just gotten alive, and our stupid team mates were off not focusing... Me and YI ran straight through Mid .. Right up the steps, I ripped the tower down in a matter of seconds... and we fucked up a revived Alistar We ripped the inhibitor, then moved onto the last two turrets. We had maybe 3 minions to distract the turrets and Ripped the upper one down then the bottom, and while everyone else decided to try to fight the champions that respawned I did the wise thing... and ripped the Nexus apart.

I'm not much on the giving up thing... dont think I ever will. I mean when I started looking into the game it was you people that said don't get frustrated if you're losing after the first 20 minutes of the game....

I only surrender when I'm not having fun. Which, quite frankly, is pretty fuckin rarely.

This is another one of those "we've had a lot more experience and can judge situations a lot better than you" sort of things.

There are some champs that are late game champs. These are the ones that can turn around a seemingly lost game by scaling ridiculously well, especially against champs that are really only a presence early game. Or there are champs whose utility doesn't really show up until mid to late game. For instance, vision Teemo has turned games around for me before by allowing our team to never be surprised by the enemy's movement, utility that just doesn't have as much of an impact until he's had time to shroom the map.

LeBlanc can tear shit up early game. Late game she just becomes nonexistant (sorry, Joe, but it's usually true).

Master Yi is notorious for being able to herp derp down towers late game, allowing a losing team to seize victory unless the other team reacts to him.

That being said, team comp can be secondary to the actual skills of the players. A game is rarely lost at champ select.

We've got a lot better knowledge of where the game stands than you do. Especially when you're playing with us - low to mid level play is a lot different than the skill levels you will be matched with when you're with us. If you pull your Jax tower dive with pugs, it may work due to the inexperience/terror of the enemy team you're matched with. If you do that when matched with 30s you probably aren't going to be successful.

In addition, as Sigfried said, as soon as one person says they are not having fun past the laning phase, it is worth considering a surrender. The whole point is to have fun, not to suffer for an hour because of a teammate's pride.

Basically, if Kaden or Tryg or one of the other supes pros we play with calls a surrender, it is probably highly unlikely to get a victory. Look at the game conditions and ask why. You'll learn a ton from their answers. Or, just them until you've had a bit more experience.

Also, it shouldn't be forgotten that Master Yi is also just a beast late game. He can take out teams as easily as he can take out towers.

Colby Cheeze's Summoner Academy should help some. Also do the in game battle training, pretty good start for a tutorial. Other than that, get a feel for it in bot games for a bit, then try normal queue and see how it goes.

Last hitting. Aside from map awareness, this is one of the most important things to master.

Also some posts here and there in this forum by some of us should help a lot, other than that, ask questions once you've gotten a few games in and have a general idea of what's going on.
