The Like/Hate Thread
Hate: My parents just took Winston to the vet. He randomly just stopped in the middle of the floor and appeared to be having a seizure. He was shaking and appeared to be freaking out.

Hate: Deleting things in the registry. It feels like I'm tap dancing through a minefield. It's not a good feeling.

Like: Once Upon a Time
Unsure: Grimm

Of the two fairy-tale based shows that started this past weekend (wtf @ that, btw), I found that I enjoyed ABC's Once Upon a Time more than NBC's Grimm. While I do enjoy the fact that Grimm is set in Oregon, it was a much darker show than I was anticipating, what with the murder and whatnot. Once Upon a Time, however, brings us back to the characters we all grew up with in Disney movies and places them in our world without their memories. I will still watch both, but I think the major difference is that while Grimm brings despair, like things are never going to get better, Once Upon a Time brings hope.

Really really like: Finally getting the right proportions of marmite. I've always known I SHOULD like it, but it's always made me violently gag. I was using too much. A tiny, tiny dab is like... delicious.

Yeah man gotta be sparing with dat marmite, but the right amount on the right sandwich on the right day ... Is the best.

But but the origins of fairy tales were horrifically morbid. Most of The Brothers Grimm collection are nightmare-worthy.

STICK TO THE ROOTS, MAN.

But the Disney-fied versions are the ones we all grew up with, which gives OUAT that nostalgia factor that Grimm just doesn't have.

Like: Getting asked by GM-sponsored people in Gemstone for me to write item descriptions for them. Sure, I'm not getting paid for what should be commissioned work, but they asked ME and my work is gonna be in a game forever.

Oh, I'm sorry, some people got to have their parents COMFORT and LOVE them and show them DISNEY MOVIES while the rest of us normal peoplehad our parents use fairy tales as cautionary measures with barely recognizable morals. Amirite, everybody? Get a load of this guy.

My parents just shouted insults at me while I struggled against my chains. They're dead now. How's THAT for a fucking cautionary tale!?

I watched Disney movies. I stopped caring about shit like that around 6th grade when I discovered porn. From there I discovered Bloodrayne 2 and the magical cycle began.

One time I went to a Colin Meloy solo show in someone's living room. That was pretty amazing. He signed my copy of the Crane Wife too.
