I hate Red Tails.
Shitty script full of cliches, shitty structure, shitty narrative, shitty acting. ![]()
Hate: raindrop-on-screen effects in games. It's sort of neat in games where it makes sense, and the list of those I can think to hand is Metroid Prime and SKATE. Every other game: cut that shit out. I just played the FFXIII-2 demo through and whilst I enjoyed it, half the scenery was obscured by rain splattering on a hypothetical screen for reasons I can only guess were "s'cool".

@Belle, that's why I skipped it altogether. Going to see Underworld and The Grey tomorrow. Saw that movie with the chick from Grey's Anatomy...fucking awesome rack.
Only good moment in the movie was her covering them up. The rest was trash. Fucking hate having no time to play Skyrim or Saints Row 3. GET THE FUCK OFF MY BACK PROFESSORS AND STOP TRYING TO EDUCATE ME!

The rain patter in Metroid Prime was fucking memorable. That game was so damn good.

Yeah, see in that game it made you feel like you were actually in the world. In other games it's just a weird reminder that you're playing a game and behind a screen.

Yeah. I dunno exactly what the difference is, but it didn't shatter the illusion.
Might just be that I was like, 13, and more receptive to that sort of world-building. It's harder for me now, at 22, to be deeply invested in a game world in the way I used to be able to. And Metroid Prime was one helluva emotionally-involved game. ![]() Mal Nova Wrote:I do apologize for using the word rape. Jonathan Meer Wrote:Yeah. I dunno exactly what the difference is, but it didn't shatter the illusion. Well, simple. In that game the screen was Samus's visor. All the neat little touches like the reflection of her eyes occasionally, of her hands coming up (which back then wasn't seen nearly as much in FPSes) and the x-ray visor letting you see the skeleton of her hand in the arm cannon added to that "this is actually real" feel. ![]() Bra Wrote:People are dumb, essentially.

Yeah. It's true. That was some serious shit.

They need to make another Bloodrayne game. I have the console arcade game. It's fucking sexy.

Shun Wrote:Dead Islands opening sequence makes me nauseous, lol. I haven't gotten far into it yet but the game seems interesting. Kind of reminds me of Left 4 Dead.i played all weekend. level 26 logan now. i've got the head stomping skill, +damage with thrown weapons, the boomerang skill that returns a thrown weapon 50% of the time, a handful of upgraded machetes, and a good magnum revolver. get some friends to play with, it's so much better with other people.

Like: Holy shit I've been playing SC5 for about four and a half hours straight now. So... Viola is actually exactly like Orianna. She is a bit overwhelming to play as and against, from my play skill. That said, the old favorites are still cool, Natsu (Taki's replacement) is kinda like her but with some stealth vanish mechanics, and Patrokolus and Pyhra (the Sophitia/Cassandra replacements) feel pretty fun to play. Tira feels kinda fun again as well. That said, I took the most interest in, surprisingly, Ezio. The motherfucker looks like he's from Assassin's Creed and uses quick bladed knives. Oh, and if they aren't in range? You get wrist control... and then pull out your gun. After shooting Nightmare in the face, then in the ankle, then standing over him and shooting him again, then using my super to KEEP SHOOTING HIM (he still kicked my ass though, but then Famitsu/Kiyo was playing him and knows the character) until he gets rung out is by no means going to get old anytime soon.
