I get the same thing with seafood on occasion. "I don't like seafood." "Oh, you've just never had the good stuff, try this shrimp!"

Never heard anyone refer to it as slam poetry. Sounds pretty damn hardcore for folk music.

Folk music is what jewish immigrants sang to make their lives seem a little less shitty. The modern genre is just a bunch of hipsters with varying levels of musical talent portraying various levels of douche.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go listen to some New Wave. lololol ![]()

If you put any kind of music in a historical context all of it seems silly. In fact, that goes for everything ever.

Slam poetry isn't folk. Slam poetry is one thing and folk is a separate thing, and I don't like either.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxsOVK4syxU That's slam poetry. And I hate this one slightly less than others. But still no thanks. ![]() Mal Nova Wrote:I do apologize for using the word rape. There are four separate definitions for the word rape, two of which describe vegetation...

You also are obligated as a slam poet to scream, almost cry, and raise your middle finger somewhere throughout the exercise. ![]() And tell me where is the love In what your prophet has said?
