Lies, just got through it and the game says Ulfric is too powerful for dead thrall. Oh well, pretty sure I tried it a while ago but its been so long I forgot. He resisted soul trap too :[
Zombified his general, though. But I stripped him of his armor beforehand, and later when I put his armor in a treasure chest in Breezehome he disappeared... but I still get npc dialog as if he's there. I'm being haunted by his disembodied spirit? lol
Time to kick it up to Master difficulty. But honestly Expert level Ancient Dragons are a huge pain already. Changed my magic resistance for full 100% fortify restoration, now I keep a ward up at all times when fighting dragons. Gonna do some daedric.quests then start a new character.

Odd. He either levels with you or they patched it out after release. I was able to a few days after the game came out. Was pretty funny with Tullius and Rikke standing there with me and Zombie Ulfric just chatting.
Also, gotta say, worst things for me on harder difficulties are Chaurus Reapers, Briarhearts, and Spriggan Matrons. Reapers will almost one-shot me if they see me first with that crazy ranged attack, Briarhearts seem to vary greatly in power but sometimes you just get that one that's an unstoppable battletank of godlike boneswinging, and Matrons are just tanky and impossible to avoid taking damage from.
Dragons are tough, but fighting like a bitch will take 'em down no matter how strong they are. My mage can summon Dremora Lord pairs almost as fast as they kill them if I toss out some dual-cast incinerates.
My arcane assassin chick just avoids them since they can't be poisoned and melee is a bad place to be in cloth.
Argonian Warrior though, DGIAF. Capped Armor, Immune to Fire and Frost, Histkin OP.

I just wanted a follower that could use dragon shouts. Blah. Still trying to come up with a good vampire hunter character. Something with archery for crossbows when Dawnguard goes live.
Ran into a number of interesting game mechanics and exploits recently.
Apparently casting cost reduction applies to enchanted weaponry. Since I have -100% destruction cost, weapons with destruction-type magic use no charges. Immediately replaced my stamina absorbing sword with something I enchanted to have 72-point shock&fire damage. Beastly.
Finally came across a min/max formula. It requires mastery of enchant and alchemy. So, you enchant some gear to improve alchemy, then use alchemcy to make enchantment potions. Do that three times and you can get potions that improve enchantments by +29%. Not good enough to make three magic-reduction enchantments equal to four, but it does marginally raise fortify weapon/armor/resistance strength. It also seems good for raising the upper limit on smithing.
This one I learned by accident. When you take the armor off a dead NPC, raise them with dead thrall, and fast travel, their armor is replaced on arrival. I had previously killed one of my Blades and took their armor, improved it, and gave it to another. But that corpse never decayed. So I thralled her for fun and she created a whole new set of Blades armor. Then I farmed her for four new sets of it.

I would never buy this buggy piece of shit. But hypothetically, even if I did, I wouldn't say things like the convoluted, outdated system from Morrowind and Oblivion has been streamlined to be fun and intuitive, or that I was enjoying even the little things like crafting, or that combat was actually enjoyable now. I definitely wouldn't say that trying not to play it 'seriously' for once and instead just being a wandering badass doing whatever while completing the occasional quest, with modded inventory size so I can just focus on playing the game, was fun.

You have not truly experienced skyrim until you have witnessed the power of the gentleman mudcrab mod.

Thank the gods! Not Skyrim-specific, but
http://tamrielfoundry.com/development-faq/
for TES Online says that the MMO will take place in a void 1000 years before Skyrim, meaning, maybe, tiny tiny hope for more real TES! Bethesda, pls.

I'm so uninterested in the MMO.

Yep. Looks lame as hell. Hopefully the game people have been rumored to get pulled into is TES6 or perhaps Fallout 4. I'm happy with either really.
