Just for fun (PARTICIPATE, FOOLS)

I choose 1, but was leaning towards 2. Either one of those and I'm game.

The impression I'm getting is that most people either aren't picky or want 2. << Am I wrong?

I'd be interested in what Ander has in mind for 2. xP

The poll shows a clean divide between 1 and 2. The key difference, though, is that 2 is worded in such a way that indicates a distaste for 1, whereas 1 is not worded in that way against 2.

I voted 1. I still try to write in the vein of DBZ, as should be evident by choosing a saiyan and doing my best to stick to the lore. It definitely hasn't felt like DBZ since customs came in, since so many people went more of an X-Men vibe, and I prefer the DBZ feel. Plus I'd love to jump in as a canon again.

That was not the intent. It wasn't meant to knock 1, it was meant to be taken literally: would you rather play anything else except a DBZ RPG. I doubt it had much impact, since people have been very open about their decisions.

Any chance of being told what those 'anything else' choices would be?

The DBZ option meant an RPG that went back to the foundations of DBZ, with all of the game mechanics and content built around the elements of the manga/anime. Staying with Chubbs just means people want to continue what they've built with the current meta of the main RPG. OOC meant, well, that people were done with writing or RPGs in general.

Now, option number 2... that was the mystery. As for what exactly that is, all will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

I read that long ago when it was posted. I just figured Hub or Hubb, which ever way it's being spelled was an acronym.

I love Chubbs, always have. I miss the old days where we ran around collecting Dragon Balls and fighting each other. I do miss the canons. I love what I built with Victoria, but, I also know that for the most part, I have nothing left for her. I'd totally do a new DBZ RPG, because we all know who I would play. I would also do a new RPG period, because I miss writing with some of the people here. The unfortunate thing is that for me, I've been writing so long, that it just doesn't come as easily as it used to.

I voted for 3.

By the by, it's really cool to see people still using my sigs. Also, when the hell did Ander come back lol?

Beginning of January he just popped up randomly.

Man alone measures time.
Man alone chimes the hour.
And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.

I'm still interested in seeing this progress. I can't find a good forum RPG to save my life at the moment. e.e

To me, the thread is less about criticizing/defending Avatar and more about wondering how stoned Jack was when he saw the movie/made the thread.

Puar. Good to see you.

Are we aiming towards a non-DBZ Hubb then?

I've been toying with the idea of launching one. I've got a pretty stable idea in mind.

However, opening up one would require that people actually WRITE WORDS EVER

I'm willing to write. Always am. Just most likely won't be an everyday occurrence...maybe once a week.

I've been working with ideas, but man writing takes some damn commitment!

Everybody who wants to, is willing to or even willing to try should collaborate. I believe the issue is in the lack of unification behind these attempts. There will never be progress if one guy knows what he wants but looks for it somewhere else, another has an idea but doesn't share it or one has a collective but isn't sure how it will be received. I know I'm not the professional in this field so my words can be as easily disregarded as the next guy.

I just know that when I write, when I have a place to write, somewhere I feel secure and bonded with...I feel better. Not saying life without writing sucks. I just feel life with writing provides the stimulation that we might lack from the day to day or it can serve as the alternative escape opposed to drugs, etc.

For what it's worth, I've always preferred PvE.

Competition, to me, is way more boring than coop. I have the same mentality for video games, etc, as well.

We need something fresh and we need to market it. To make it work, I mean.

DBZ is... well, it's dead. And besides, it's always been something we've never been able to escape from; no matter how unique or divergent our world became, in some way it's still never really been ours.

I know RPs still work; I've seen them. It's just tougher now, to make them work.
