I'm on a Harry Potter splurge
#1
So, I've read all the books and I decided I want to see the fifth movie. But you can't see the fifth movie without seeing others, right?

So I went to Wal-Mart and was all *pays 40 bucks for the 4 movies*

Now I'm sitting here about to watch them all one by one.

Just so ya know.

Enjoy. They aren`t bad movies, but they certainly can`t beat the books. So you might be a bit dissapointed.

I don't compare movies and books. They're never meant to be the same thing.

I'm highly enjoying the first movie. Hagrid owns hardcore

I haven't read any of the books but have liked the movies so far. And yea, Hagrid does own.

I actually liked when the movies deviated from the books. I thought the movies came out better for the deal, overall. Some people like to throw fits about it, but you can't have an eight hour movie just it can stay "true" to the source.

While I agree with you Rad, I know for a fact the 4th is rather confusing if you haven't read the books. I had to sit there and explain to my mom what was going on.

Yes that's exactly it! That's why a lot of movies get poor reviews, instead of viewing it as a stand alone movie they compare it too the book.

Still can't believe you like harry potter though, you always seemed so gruff and manly and now you are reading little sissy girl books.

Welcome to the club :D

BTW did you preorder your harry potter? You should, if you do it at amazon.com they have delivery on the release day! I am getting two copies of the book, one standard and the other limited edition cloth version.

If it were made from flesh then it would be worth it. And if it screamed when you opened it...that would be even more worth it.

The movies are awesome if you like them, and crappy if you don't.

I know that sounds obvious, but there really isn't an easier way to describe how they are.

Read the book, then watch the movie. The book is perfectly paced, and thus far, the movies have been anything but. They're glorious, but I've always seen them as more of an appendix/reference of sorts to the actual Harry Potter series. You should watch them, and they will be enjoyable, but the real treat is the book series.

NO JEW GOLD? WTF

How can you be a jew without jew gold, it's like a birth right!

No...the birth right was to go to Israel for free. I just did that....actually my parents might have given them my jew gold for the trip...something about exchange rate or whatnot.

I, personally, think the latest Harry Potter is the best. I've not read the books because I don't want to ruin my movie viewing experience (because the books are two ahead of the moves).
