Hmm. Honestly, I don't think that it's too bad of an idea...lol, then again I may be on crack at the moment or something. Some part of that seems about good to me...don't know why, just does.........................................................>.<

I believe Rei has thought about making a quiz, but nothing has come to fruition. It could be good, but there isn't really much trouble with joinees; especially now, for some reason.

If you know how to coerce a) the forum into behaving in that manner, and b) VJ into letting you do that, then please enlighten us.

I have to agree with Kirano and 13. Perhaps there should be something, the idea sounds pretty fine, but perhaps put it in a multiple choice form. I don't think it is difficult to code such a page, perhaps, a point system for each answer, if they score so high, (say, 75%) Then they would be able to gain access to the joining board. If they fail, then they will be redirected to the rules page, or main page.
Fuck you, Photobucket.

Not a bad idea, I think. I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I just scan over the rules when I join something. It might help people to become accustomed to actually taking time to understand what they're reading before they do anything, a big thing in a text-based rolepay like this.

If we could do this, that would be awesome, but I'd imagine it'd be pretty difficult to code.

I dunno. I mean, I see about a million of similar buggers on quiz.com. Then again, I'm in the Army and inherently stupid.

Yes, it would. The URL wouldn't be a big problem though. Runescape has the same URL for their whole sight, so I imagine we could do it with the quiz IE... http://cdbzrpg.dracondev.com/forum/quiz/ for every question. But the html and question coding would be a different matter. And having a legal doccument wouldn't be bad either, or at least, saying it's a legal doccument. *winks*

Sadly, difficulty is rarely the problem.

Tch, yea, there are other difficulties to worry about. Like the circumference of a square!

Oh Waffuru...Oh sweet terrible irony....
It's a good idea, but 1- it'll lessen the amount of people we get, because come on when you were joining, and you saw you needed to answer a quiz? would you have? i probably wouldn't, because i skimmed some sections, like how to join, then read some other stuff since then, no one like reads the whole site... only the desperate ones. This would limit the number of people we have. and we'd still have people trying to join that aren't the quality we want, granted we'd lose the idiot joinee we see occasionally. 2- Having VJ read this and do it.

Shouldn't be too hard. Your ass will probably be asleep before the first anesthetic is even picked up.
Yeah, I've thought about the quiz thing before. I don't think it will ever happen though using the VJ Law Not sure on it.
Kirano, I do not mean this in any way but the most honest way, but do you realize how many times we had to ask you to read the rules and all when you were Jeice, and how many times after that we kept making you read them when you would ask things like "What planet can I find Vine on?" You are one of the few times we've had a major problem with that. Most of the other people have left shortly after.
I do not see a problem with the idea though. I'm always up for keeping this RPG from degrading into the level of the avg DBZ RPG.

It's a good idea, but as Mino said, a lot of people will decide not to join, even good RPers.
I think we'd be seen as hardasses.

It depends on the quiz. We could make them wade through pages of rules, or we set up a bunch of questions using the following format:
Quote:Rule #5
Switching characters incurrs a 25 point penalty to each stat and these switches are allowed on a case-by-case basis as determined by the staff members.
[insert more rules]
Question #5
Switching Chracters involves:
1) +10 to each stat
2) No stat changes
3) A majority vote from the active members
4) -25 to each stat and staff permission
Ta-da!
Its not a hard quiz, but the point isn't to challenge people. Its to familiarize them with the rules of the RPG. If we pick, say, ten of the most commonly asked about rules and put them into a quiz in the above format, we're in business.

We'll need to update the rules before we can do that, but it sounds good.
You have too many good ideas, Rad.
