I love Chris Cornell.
<.<
I wanted to make that known, but I didn't know how without blatantly spamming. xD So I guess I'll ask for your guy's opinion. Who is the best rock singer of all time in your eyes? My choice is obviously Chris Cornell from Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog/Audioslave. Freddie Mercury from Queen deserves a mention, too.

Are we allowed to use people from the "nu metal" genre?

Sure. I just wanted to make sure nobody uses an opera singer, or something. >.< Different kind of good.

They're all good at what they do, but I'd have to agree with Krillin on this'n.

This isn't a thread for bashing other people's taste in vocalists.

And Krillin, if you've ever heard Disturbed - Remember, you'd know that David Draiman is a good vocalist.

Aaand... y'know, Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain are fantastic, and Cobain might've taken third place if his voice wasn't so marred by heroin in his last days.
That said, since Johnny Cash isn't really 'rock' per se, I'll choose Jeff Martin of Tea Party

Chris Daughtry, the lead singer of Keane is pretty good too. Billy Jo of Green Day...that guy...from Creed deserve an honorable mention too.

Agreed on this one.
I'm not bashing anyone's choices, nor am I saying that screamo band singers are "bad singers". But screaming, in itself, is not good singing. It might be enjoyable, and it might make for a good song, but it's not good singing.

Bujin needs to decide between "vocalist" and "signer."

Chad Kroeger from Nickelback.
And the guy from Creed I think you'r refering to is named Scott Stapp.
That's my list.

Eh, that's a tough one.
For overall voice, I'd say Ivan Nahem.
For pure talent, I'd say Benjamin Burnley.
And, for simply being awesome, John Ondrasik.
I have a feeling some of you all will disagree with me on Burnley, but listen to his voice when he sings. I didn't notice it for a while, but he's almost got three different "voices" when he sings, and it's just fucking astounding to hear him.
