Age of consent varies from state to state. >.>

In MD, even though you were 16, that would have been illegal, and considered statutory rape.

Legal age of consent in NY is 17, so it was the same case for the first like 7 months. That was another BIG reason why we couldn't go public.

Oh. Ok, that's...maybe a bit understandable on all parties there.

I could see why your uh...girlfriend(?) would be a bit nervous. I can imagine that something like that would probably create a massive rift between you, your family and your mother's friend.

And probably the son too.

Stuff like that's crazy to figure out how it's all going to play out. But everybody knows it's not going to start in a good way.

I mean the biggest thing people would see is that when the relationship started she was probably twice your age. And had a kid you could be like...friends with.

That sort of stuff, thinking more and more about it, bends my noodle.

Bends your noodle?

O.o

Edit:

Yeah, it's not gunna be pretty. I anticipated the rift, but it won't affect me really. My connection with my family is blood, thats it. I have no real feelings for them.

Her and her son though, they'll definitely be affected. Their relationship with each other and my family will most likely be strained...

Well, there's that, and I know that a lot of people will see the fact she was hiding it for so long partially for the divorce, and partially because, of course, it all started under age.

I have to wonder how this will effect her repuation in general.

Rumors about how young it really started at will probably float around.

Well, the way we had it planned out was:

We've been 'friends' for a like two years now. Official friends, not she's my moms friend, everyone knows she and I hang out. Everyone knows we're close, just not to the full extent. People call her looking for me and vice versa. So, we just moved into an apartment this weekend. Because we are both adults and when the divorce is over we will both be single, we will go along with the story that our feelings grew stronger for each other and yada yada.

So...after the divorce is over, when we go 'public'. It'll be like starting new. No one will know that we started dating when I was 16. As far as they are concerned, we started then and will build up from then.

...that's how it's supposed to go anyway.

Edit: That rumor bit is true. Most likely that will come up. It wouldn't surprise me or bother me. I can't say she won't get upset though.

Well, that's a good story, but with the way society is, I doubt they're going to believe your story. They're going to take it at face value.

I hope it goes well for you, and that this is going to be a real deal, and not what society would expect.

Hey, it happens with relationships of any age. But if you're in love, you're in love and it's not going to change from other people's words.

That's intense as hell, man.

Sometimes I have wondered what it would be like to have a relationship like that with one of my friends' moms. It would be exciting. And to Mowgli, I'm glad it already makes you feel better. That is the purpose of this thread.

I've never stolen from my parents or anything but my friend did recently leave his iPod here and my friends keep saying to keep it and sell it and so far I've kept it and my friend has been looking hardcore. It's been a little over two weeks. It's one of those small four gigs and I partially feel bad but I'm kind of hoping he gives up his search and buys a new one. Apparently his mom wont let him do anything until he finds it now and he knows for a fact he left it at my house a couple Fridays ago on my table in my room. So I don't know. I'm still kicking the idea around of keeping it.

Years ago this kid left his CD player at my house. When he asked for it I laughed and told him that he should take better care of his things. Then I brought it to school the next day and dared him to take it from me.

Ah, the good ol' days. xD

Mowgli says:

If he's really your friend, give it back. Say it was under some clothes or sumthin. If he's more like an associate, keep it. =]

And do what? Only use it when he's not around. Plus if it were me I'd have been returned it, never steal from friends or loved ones is my motto. Anytime I've left anything of value over a friend's home they've been courteous enough to keep it until I return or bring it back to me.

But anyway confession time for me...

I'm currently trying to break my cousin up with his girlfriend, she's trying to make him quit school and 'further' his 'rap career'...he's made one CD(not in stores, sellin out the trunk of his car heh) and hasn't even sold any yet.

Right now I'm just digging up old dirt and shit, I'm probably going to have to take some drastic measures to get her out of his life.

@Tapion: I would say give it back. I know I would, but that's because I get a guilty conscience real easily. I'm not good at doing things that seem 'morally wrong.'

EDIT@Dehan: I completely agree with you on that. School, to me, is one of the most important phases of your life. If he really wants to be a rapper, he can do it out of school. If you can't get him away from her, at least convince him not to listen to her. He doesn't want to be deemed one of those stupid dropout rappers, does he?

EDIT2: And to keep with the theme:

I'm a Republican. I like to say I'm independant, but I'm conservative more likely than not on most issues. I understand that's quite an unpopular option on these online forums.

You don't steal from someone you call your friend. Bottom line.

Yeah, I am thinking about giving it back. A couple of my friends say keep it but I wasn't raised to be that much of an ass. So I'll most likely give it back in due time.

Smart stuff. They don't care if you steal it because they won't get the shaft if you get caught, is my guess.

I wouldn't stay friends with anyone who thought it was acceptable to steal their friends' stuff. Seems like common sense.

Due time nothing. Your friend is looking for their iPod and you have it.
