I know there was that blue one, the water one. And I know we can't have Shenron characters, but the Shenron was taking the form and appearance of a princess that supposedly existed separately at one time, as is the legend and is seen in her actual appearance being believed by the villagers.
So my question is, could someone RP the princess Otohime , but not the dragon?

And I think Hime is just Japanese for princess.

Someone could join as the princess if they wanted, I guess.
And yeah, "hime" just means princess. So you'd either say "Princess Oto" or "Otohime".

I'm not so sure I agree. Where does it say she was a seperate person? Wasn't she the dragon, only pretending to be a princess?
I never liked the idea of any of the shenron being used. Sure she looks human enough, but I can just see the "Well if you let that one in, why can't I be "blahblah"." Just like How people complain about Reijin being a custom but no one else could be.

No one else takes another form save for her. Well, a couple others do, but just other dragon forms.

So, yeah. The princess is real, but I doubt in DB she was a goddess. If I recall, anyways, since the Kais are essentially the gods of that timeline. Them and Kami, who is God of Earth, so I think Oto would be like Kami.

He wasn't "born" in a RP here. He was a villian in an old saga called the Lookout Saga, which I think can only be found in a summed up thread because it was deleted a long time ago. Rei switched to that character because he felt he couldn't RP actively enough to deserve keeping Trunks (which was the Unified trunks, making us only have one and not two from that saga onward). So he gave up Trunks.
No one was allowed to be custom, that is until Buter asked the staff if he could be Burter Jr. and they let him.
But a lot of people did complain, mostly new people. It was one of the many problems we've tried to work on.

Well I'm sorry but I feel I have to disagree. I thought we allowed actual characters, not mythical characters? In DBZ Otohime was a shenron, not human. Just because she used an old myth as a coverup doesn't mean we dispute it and let that "supposed" real person exist here.

In truth, it shouldn't really be allowed. Otohime wasn't a real person, it was a legend that the dragon used as a base for a disguise. To say that we should allow that, is close to saying that we should allow Goku-Oolong and Puar-Yamucha since technically speaking they were pretending to be another person too.
In my opinion though, I have never understood why we didn't allow the Shenron's to be playable characters as it's not like they would get an special treatment they just happen to have a unique Origin.

Well, I dunno. I've seen seperate character classifications for Oto and Oceanus. I just figured they were seperate, existing characters.
And the fact that Kami wasn't the only God on Earth, sharing Annin made me think it was very likely that she did exist.
How many gods or goddesses have been referenced on DBZ that didn't exist?
