Just see it again. I watched it last night and realized you were wrong on pretty much every point you tried to make.

Aside from some small details, my memory of the movie is very clear. In fact, my brain is a curse to me in that way; I've been trying to forget this horseshit ever since I saw it and this thread that keeps bobbing at the top of the forum page isn't helping.

For instance, take the interrogation scene. Batman gets to play a hammy hardcore-but-no-killer-bad-cop loner... while the cops are watching him. From the very first moment nobody was under any impression that Batman was going to do anything interesting to the Joker, while the Joker for his part was vomiting up subtext for his dialog again. And why were all of the lights on and the walls are splashed in white? That just accentuated the awkward and lumpy design of that rubber suit. That scene would have been better if the lights had stayed off, and instead the lights had been turned on in the viewing room to show that nobody is in there before Batman drags Joker into the shadows. Then Batman would "aggressively interrogate" in some intentionally poorly lit parts of the room, and the viewers' imaginations would be allowed to make up whatever they want, and nobody would have to have been exposed to the eye-watering view of that rubber suit.

But no, what am I thinking? Everybody likes the movie, therefore it must be awesome. After all, the majority is always right, right? RIGHT?
