Rem-13 Wrote:Its one of those movies that is best watched when you are younger in my opinion. This would have been nice to know before going in, though it's not exactly a kid's movie. And it's not that the films are void of all virtue, I laughed at a few parts like the "who runs barter town" bit, but the negatives far outnumber the positives.
And it's such a great concept, too. Scavenger wanders future post-apocalyptic wasteland. It gives the writers free reign to decide what parts of modern technology and society are kept, removed, or invented depending on the needs of the story. It's basically a no-lose recipe for awesome, so I'm at a loss to explain why it went so wrong.
Max Max was like 90 minutes of subplot... set up as the main story.
Mad Max: The Road Master was decent. I can't really complain about anything other than the semi-campy ending. Best of the series, people should probably start watching here and then go back to the first movie if they really want to.
Beyond Thunderdome was an exercise in awful hilarity. What parts I liked were quickly overshadowed by the horrible execution.
