The shivering focus singled in on an eye; a solitary void, black and heartless but oh so vibrant and alive. Peeling back layers of reality with its stringent glare enough to peer deep, deep into the faces. Deep into the faces blocking his view of the others who stood in line waiting for his hand to grace their throats, granting them vindication from the toils of life.
"Is this who you are?"
"Next... next!" Ares twinged, a full plethora of lusts flooding his pallet, overwhelming him down to the core. "Next! Next! Next!" with each call another of the faces plumed into a fountain of fire, its spray dousing his body in refreshing liquid warmth.
Grove after grove filled the air with a displaying inferno unlike that ever met by Hell and its demons as the throngs of bodies kindled the fires. Within this fanciful version of the nether dominated the Saiyan, a master of his domain and ruler of even those to oppose.
"Or is this who you think you are."
"NEXT!"
But there was none more to come, only the surroundings filled with the fallen. In the far distant stood a lone figure amongst the featureless bodies of the deceased, rebellious to take the step towards judgment. The rogue lit the fires within the executioner who struck forth to claim his prize, stepping through the dead masses to happen upon the defiant one's turned back.
He placed a hand firmly on the man's shoulder, whipping him around with a fury nearly catching his own fleeing tongue down his throat as his own image stared back at him. The imposter stepped forward towards the hangman, reaching out and grabbing to bring him in close till they were face to face, his world fading to white as the doppelganger whispered, "Come on... don't fight it."
He awoke again. His breath magnified itself into something of a roar inside the bowels of the chamber, each infinitesimal sound turned up a thousand fold so that even the beat of his heart was more ferocious than any beast he had heard before. The weight of the world spread itself over the largest part of his neck as he struggled to pick himself to his knees on the cold cobble stone floor of the dungeon. He found himself not in the warmth of his kill but rather the placid existence of honoring life and foregoing the cruelties.
All willingness to proceed, even wake to incite the coming events of this new dream danced just out of reach as he sat bent forward, head between his arms writhing in the whirling wash spinning within his head. Ares groaned, turning his head over on its side in his palm still largely unaware of the immediate area surrounding him.
"You're taking this harder than it has to be," that voice felt familiar, heard somewhere before but he couldn't focus. Everything fused together in a tightly bound mess of thread that, try as he might, refused to untangle itself. "Your resisting is just making this worse."
"... fffuu." more noise. His vocabulary had been cut down to little more than the syllables managed through grunts and fleeting air from his lungs, trying to summon strength to form words with his lips.
"Shhh." skin, soft and supple skimmed across his back; touching near his tail, climbing to his neck where fingertips traced the outline of the tensed muscles, resenting the tender contact.
An intense struggle with his eyes ended in a stalemate, dropping his head in defeat as frustration overtook confusion. "Ha... who." the boy managed, clutching his fists in attempt to undergo the necessary will to speak.
"Oh, opening again, are we?" lightly they chuckled. "Who do you want me to be?" she whispered like a snake in his ear, a viper. "Must be wandering through that head of yours... names, places, sounds, anything to give you clues. Leaving you completely vulnerable for the curious to watch."
"Stt-stay out." he growled striking out but only managed to drag his fingers across the damp floor's surface, wincing as the raw tips of his fingers slid across spines of what felt like some nautical sea urchin bristling against a nonexistent current. The possibility of pain was evident yet the thought wasn't enough to drown out the compulsion the grab the prickly item, a strange desire coaxing his palm down with enough pressure to crush it into the ground.
As if knowing what he would have to do his breathing became sporadic, each rise and fall of his chest pulsing a rush of what could only be described as a sexual frustration through his body till his skin punctured the jagged edges. His body trembled while liquid trickled down from his lips, tasting and feeling as though something blocked him from inhaling... with a shock, his eyes opened.
The room was bathed in white; small and very simplistic with four walls, a ceiling and a floor leaving nothing of its construction to the imagination. From his mouth he drew forth his hand, marked and bleeding with imprints of his teeth on the skin where he bit. A slow, rhythmic clapping from sources unknown filled the room now that Ares was fully aware of his location.
"Touché." an otherworldly voice congratulated him, the one that had visited him in the dungeon now spoke in full from what appeared to be the very room he stood in. "for having no concept of telepathy you guard yourself quite well, Ares." it was Rosemary. Though her personality was different, it was, without a doubt, one of the four Demons. "But I wonder- what is it exactly you don't want me to know, hm?"
Ares' lips parted as if preparing to speak only to close again in spite of himself. For the moment he knew one thing was for sure; where ever he was Rosemary was obviously in control.
"Is this who you are?"
