No kidding.
To put it in perspective, Laura, a prot pally can put a high level spike onto their shield in addition to having one of the reflective damage or "gain life when blocking" shields and essentially round up that many creatures normally and just stand there as things beat themselves to death on you. You'll auto attack with SoL going, one of your abilities will kick in that let you pretty much have two or three attacks per strike, so you'll start gaining much more life, you'll stay full on mana, and the only time you'll need to worry about dying (since you'll activate Holy Shield at times for forced blocking so that each cooldown lets you suddenly block everyone for a few seconds, meaning most of them will suddenly kill themselves and you'll gain a lot more life and mana) is surprisingly when they've worked themselves down to like two or three guys left.
