The Like/Hate Thread

I HATE fuckers who always ask in an MMO "Hey how are x class? Are they better than x class? Should I reroll!?!"

I'm not even sure WHY it bothers me as much as it does. I guess it's because it requires almost deliberate ignorance on the part of the asker. "Better"? How does one define that? In comparison to what? Damage? Healing? Survivability? Early-game PvP relevance? Late-game PvP relevance? (Same questions for PvE.)

Furthermore, why do you want to play the class that's 'better'? Shouldn't you play the class that you like/are good at? And don't you realize that most mainstream MMOs strive for balance, and that what's overpowered today will be nerfed tomorrow? It'll certainly be nerfed before your ass gets to max level.

Always have to love when someone goes "I heard frogs got buffed from my friend, and they are nerfing my squirrel, so I'm gonna reroll a frog now! OMG FROGS ARE SO FUN! Mine's almost level 18 again! Oh man, they are nerfing frog's now, but they were really really good. My friend said on the forums that they just buffed pigs by a lot, so I'm gonna reroll a pig now and delete my frog!" "You realize though that pigs do a different group function than your frog and squirrel did, right?" "Yeah, that's awesome, eating slop will be so fun!" *few weeks later* "I'm booooorrred with pigs, they aren't near as strong as people said in raids. I'm gonna delete my level 22 pig and reroll a parrot, I've heard they are really good!"

The above scenario results in buckets of hair being ripped from my scalp in protest.
