Just bought Assassin's Creed. Much better than I expected it to be so far. Great graphics and gameplay. Really cool atmosphere, too.
I don't get why people were knocking the combat aspect, though. If anything, it's too easy. Once you get counter kills you're borderline invincible. Hell I go out of my way to cause trouble just so I can hurt people.
The one thing I hate is that Altair obviously wants to die. The freerunning/climbing is awesome, but more than a few times he's decided AGAINST MY WISHES to just take this blind leap of faith and catapult himself a hundred feet down into pavement. The freerunning/jumping/etc in Prototype was a million times better. Mind you, Mercer kind of cheats a little bit.
Neat story so far but Yahtzee was bang on about the victims talking unendingly after you kill them. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DIE, PLZ!!! Stupid anti-horse-running laws, too.
Fun, though. And for 20 bucks for a new game, can't go wrong.
