I don't think people are necessarily saying that they should win. They just don't like the idea that they can't do *anything*. If they got raped in 5 seconds, but could still hit someone and do damage to them, I suspect they'd be totally okay with it.
But there's something about being locked out and having no chance for rebuttal that pisses people off. Even if retaliation is ultimately futile, people like to have it.
Dying without throwing a hit back makes you feel like a real pussy.
