I'm not going to turn this into a "find the best quote" contest. That quote is just ridiculous because you have a decades old vampire going through some emo teenage angst. It's just stupid. And, really, that gets to the core of my problem with the series.
The words she use might work fine when strung together, but that doesn't make her books well written. The main character is a masturbatory projection of a ridiculously cliche teenage girl with no depth or no real development. The entire series she's just waddling along as predictably as possible all the while staring stary-eyed at her prince charming. It's not entertaining, it's stupid. That we're supposed to connect, on any level, with such a shallow, two-dimensional, unimaginative character like Bella is, quite honestly, an insult.
I give you a 100%, money back guarantee that you are not going to change my mind on this issue. Not even a little bit. I'm sure I won't be able to sway you, either.
People obviously like the series, it's been very successful. Really, I don't even begrudge the author for her success. I blame the moronic masses who are able to swallow a load like that and then bend over and ask for more.
Concur.
Edward is like a century year old, there is no reason such a long lived person would have such an inability to control his emotions and be such a whiny douche.
Think about it like this, look at a 10 year old child and try to have a conversation with them. You will get annoyed very fast because of their frenetic thought pattern, and lack of any real sense. This is how teenagers would appear to someone as aged as himself- hell I am 27 and I can't stand teenagers.
