It's a quote taken completely out of context, and most of the folks here will sympathize with you (Mario) and your word-raping of anyone who enjoys the series, even marginally. It's a pretty common occurence, disliking something you don't understand. You don't understand why people enjoy it, so you're upset about it. You think you understand why everyone (America gave you the right to an opinion) does, despite it being your opinion alone.

Maybe you were a teen who never got angry about anything, angsty about anything, emotionally vulnerable about anything, or never cared about anything. Maybe you don't know what its like to care about someone of the opposite sex (for all I know you've got six girlfriends in four different counties) or don't know much about them in general. As it stands it's pretty easy to put a synopsis of Bella beside at least six out of ten girls her age and and get a fair number of common factors. She's a hopeless romantic (as are most girls toward their first love), and admittedly the series gets a little thin at times, but so did something like Starship Troopers, a cult classic I heard you're fond of.

This'll just end in heads butting for no reason, and you're disrespect is taken with a grain of salt. So flog some more, because it's clearly your purpose here. You're a wonderful example of staff to go off on a tangent just because of something you dislike, and I'm proud to have been your whipping boy if it relieves some of that writer's tension of yours. But now you're just getting angry, maybe you're frowning. Sorry to have brought up teen literature in a thread on a forum primarly for teens, about literature.

How does him not liking it immediately equate in your mind to him not "understanding it"? A negative value judgment by itself is not indicative of some kind of perceptual flaw. Sometimes people understand something perfectly well and arrive at the conclusion that it's shit. Twilight is one of those things, and the opinion is certainly not shared by just Kaden. It's echoed from writers ever since the books came out and, in fact, the criticism has been widely publicized.

It's actually pretty disheartening that you're taking his criticism of the series so personally. The intention was hardly to make you his "whipping boy." He's harsh on Twilight, but for reasons which he explained in detail. If you knew Kaden a little better, you would know that he very rarely goes after someone personally.

But please, continue to make thinly veiled insults and judgments on people's characters whom you barely know. It's a handy time waster, if nothing else.
