Energy Absorption

I'd assume that would be pretty high cost, because it's basically changing a tech that's supposed to work at touch range work at very long ranges and neutralizes attacks.

It would depend on the specifics of the move, really. If you wanted a Custom that could absorb any concieveable attack without the person even having to be conscious of it, then yeah, you'll be paying an arm and a leg. If you just want to be able to absorb p.o.s. filler attacks, then not so much expensive.

I think making absorption an ability would be sensible. It's always seemed like a really powerful thing to me. Not only does it negate attacks/drain your opponent's energy, but it also restores your own energy.

I've never considered Energy Absorption to be particularly powerful. Just draining someone until your character is full charged and an opponent is completely drained is ridiculous and would definitely fall under God-moding. Additionally, there's nothing about the Tech that says you opponent has to stand there and take it. Yeah, you can drain some energy, but you might take a solid shot to the soft-stuff while you're standing there doing it.

Just as another random thought since it's somewhat related and I'd rather not make a new thread, how about an 'Endurance' ability that made your character no 'stronger', persay, but meant that they could last a really long time in fights without getting the effects of fatigue? Like Android 17/18, but perhaps toned down a little.

That's an interesting idea. I wouldn't have a problem adding something like that.
