I don't really know where all these 'whateva, I do what I want' answers are coming from.

I'm exaggerating slightly in my posts, I'll admit. My thoughts on the issue have already been pretty much summed up by some of the other staffers, but I'll state them anyway:

Yes, absolutely, if someone is banning you excessively just for kicks or harassing you for no very good reason, then you should contact someone else on the moderation team and ask that something be done about it. This goes for abuses of mod power in general.

However, I don't think that this (the ChatBox privileges) needs to have some sort of institutionalized oversight - which seems to be what some people are asking for, here. It's the ChatBox. Ultimately, it's a very minor part of the site. Anyone that simply can't stand to not have the ChatBox for the few days (at most!) it would require to fix the issue should probably take a deep breath, step away from the computer, and go for a walk.

As to the "suck it up" part: try to remember that dicking around with people has been something that Chubbs mods have done in the past, with things ranging from the occasional embarrassing user title to changing avatars and/or sigs to something with an MSPaint penis spraypainted on it. Sometimes it sucks, but it kind of comes with the territory. (Haven't seen too much of it recently, though.)
