I'm mostly wondering if it would be possible, like, at all, because i'm considering purchasing ki absorption but if i can't make a custom to grant it long distance capablities, i won't bother.

Yeah you could if you had Ki Spec, it'd be a pretty expensive technique and after you broke of the connection it would be on a timer before the technique run its course because it'd be cheap if you could just create a technique that leeched peoples energy for an indefinite period of time.
