Correct. The program will not allow you to access those techniques. You can try, but you'd fail. The characters are also not aware they are in a program, nor should they have any reason to suspect.

You can role-play other people or animals or whatever you'd like. They'd all be artificial, of course, but again, it will seem like it's real to the players.

If you want to get into an altercation with somebody, be my guest. It doesn't, however, affect anything. You can't kill or eliminate anybody, nor can you earn or lose points, outside of a Combat Day.

It is whatever you want it to be. The map is just a symbolic representation. The Sectors are big enough that there can be room for multiple interpretations.
