I quite liked, at least for me who doesn't know too much about Sophia, how you quickly summarised what happened to your character thus far. The quick mention of the volcano was something I wasn't aware of, and that helped me centre my understanding of Sophia in the circumstances that much better.

Much like the others who are constantly assumed to make the top five, you've got great flow to your writing and your vocabulary is top notch. I mostly enjoyed the interplay between Sophia and Kaden. I think you write Kaden very well and very true to his character.

Not much bad to say, really. It's an opening post so it's hard to make them super exciting, but yours was engaging. I originally looked at the length and thought I'd get bored, but I didn't even notice the length in the end. There was one spot where you used the present tense instead of past, but that's nit picking a bit too much.
