Quote:VAD VS. TAMSIN
Vad instantly stopped the knives with his metal binding; it was a foolish decision to even try to attack him in such a manner. He still remained poised to plunge the sword into Tamsin, but he wasn’t as sure of himself as before. His body sagged, and he let out a groan as he dropped to the ground, sword and all. That last bit of effort drained away all the strength he had left.
Hey babe… Vad thought. He writhed on the ground, trying to get up. I’m doing what you told me to…but damn it if it wouldn’t be better if I had you with me.
Tamsin trembled, unsure of just what exactly was going to happen next. She grabbed her fallen knives, knowing that whatever did happen, she was going to need them. She could barely move herself; their exchange of injuries left both in a critical state of affairs. When it became apparent that Vad wasn’t going to get up, she slowly crawled away to make her escape. Her master had told her that she would need to do what was necessary to ensure survival, but if she didn’t have to, she wasn’t going to. The maid’s priority was first and foremost to find her master and assist him however she was able.
Vad grunted and rolled over, watching Tamsin go. It wasn’t in his nature to give up; he’d fight until he couldn’t fight anymore. She wasn’t dead, and he could still move, so this battle wasn’t over in his mind. He clutched at his sword, dragging himself to his knees and crawling along after her on his elbows.
“Don’t…run away…from me…you…coward,” he breathed raggedly. He could feel his blood beginning to boil at the despicable act. “Stand…and…fight…me!”
With a heavy grunt, he flung his sword at Tamsin, trying to stick her with it. He stumbled on the throw, and the projectile blade missed. She was going to get away. Once more, Vad dropped into a heap.
“I’m sorry, babe,” he whispered.
