edit: there's a definite learning wall, not a curve. once you get over it, though, it's all gravy.
Thiago Silva is just overrated, definitely better than mid-level fighters but with his striking he's only good enough to hang out around the bottom of the top 5 in LHW. He has some bjj skill (none of the other top5 LHW have blackbelt in bjj?) so it's kinda frustrating that he has zero gameplan on the ground.
I've never liked Rashad, because I know he's not much of a striker and that's all he's done since getting into the UFC. With Couture in retirement and Tito only recently returning, UFC's LHW has no serious wrestler in title contention. This is as good a time as any for him to get back to his strength.
