As Sophia's already said in the rules for Kill Town, grammar is going to be a thing for him. It may not make-or-break a post (can't say, as I'm not him) but it will definitely be a factor.
If I were grading, I would have to say I'm a fan of successful tonal shifts within a post, showing a range to both the writer and their character.
The way some people write is simply going to be higher "quality" depending on the judge. There are some generalities that often hold true (saying something along the lines of Ander and Piper will always be in the top three if only quality counts isn't necessarily unreasonable), but the fact of the matter is that if the grader just doesn't like your style of writing "quality" isn't going to get you very far.
