Weaving with the ease of a bird in flight through the thicket of trees rode a cloaked vision of darkness on the back of an ebony stallion. Moving as though a shadow himself, the rider's unsurpassed expertise was apparent in the agility of his quick maneuvers, turning embankments and bounding without hesitation over fallen timber. The equestrian followed abidingly along an unmarked path till a break in momentum caused it to buck her front legs back, striking the air till landing again on the forest floor.
From the surrounding brush emerged a trio of shades; two of equal size and girth with the exception of one small figure who stood barely waist high to his counterparts.
"Beyond the ridge, Warden. We are within sight of smoke, less than an hour by foot." as the rider spoke he tugged the leather straps bound to the horse's mouth forced the beast to turn back down the path indicating the direction of interest.
"Well done. Proves useful for a scout, eh?" a burly voice from one of the larger frames jested in direction of his equal to which a terse grunt was replied. "How many in all?"
"Three others of our escort have already settled. The battalion itself appears to be readying for their move."
"Then we've no time to waste- shall we?" a collective nod from the party warranted travel as they broke rest and began forth once more through the hillside. As they progressed there was little conversation between the four with the exception of terse spasms of coughing that came from the smallest of the lot whose stamina hadn't the strength his weathered colleagues held.
The light blazing at the end of the collective torches marking the edge of camp lit the ground the group now tread upon- the horse and her riding pacing ahead and off toward the stables to rest from the arduous travel it had endured.
"Go on, boy." a harsher tone than the other, still the playful thrust of his shield against the child's back urging him towards the group of Wardens gathered shown somewhat of his good faith. Since waking to yet another twisted scenario as the one previous, Wolfgang had determined these strange going-on's to be something of a dream what with their numerous details and exploitative areas by which to interact in. Nothing about this screamed normal to the poor boy but still... the prospects that he would eventually wake from all this hung heavy with hope in the back of his mind.
He looked back briefly at the man, sighing before venturing forth toward the group already gathering- that is, a man and two women who seem to stand out as far more significant than the others roaming the area.
Timidly he approached with no intent on drawing any attention from the three till the male had cast an eye in his direction. Uncomfortably he toyed with the end of the dark emerald cloak he wore, almost thankful no one could see how stupid he looked in the leather armor he had on beneath it.
"H-hello." Wolf's eyes were staked defiantly towards the ground as if attempting to divert the attention from him onto something aside from himself- like the twig underneath the smaller girl's boot. "I'm... Wolfgang... and yeah." he was no smooth talker but if this dream was anything like the last, these people might be the best chance he had at making this whole experience anything less than a nightmare this time around.
