Can't believe I read all that. Honestly though, low-grade management jobs actually exist solely to be filled by inept blowhards with no people skills or discernable talents aside from the burning desire to keep in line employees they're convinced don't actually have any common sense themselves. If you're part time you also automatically go to the bottom of that pile of employees. At my old job my manager developed a vendetta against me after I refused to work Christmas (job in the city I go to school in, family in different city, no trains over Christmas etc. Also I wasn't actually contracted to work Christmas anyway)
After that I just felt like you do, passed up for everything for no good reason and so on. I ended up just quitting, but it's clear you have a lot more financial responsibilties than I did, so obviously it's not that easy.
That's a method that has yet to fail me once in my life...
